People gave me so much crap about not wanting to vote. I wasn't even registered until about a month ago. I finally got into the election and now understand why everyone found me so obnoxious before. It's pretty fucking annoying that a lot of people I know didn't or aren't voting because they were too lazy to get absentee ballots or take five

In Australia it is mandatory to vote if you a citizen. The country will go out of its way to bring polls to the people including all Aborigines. The fee for not voting is around $20-$22. Before anyone wants to bark at this, consider the benefits and look at how they feel about it. Turn out rates are in the 90's.
