Flu shots, man. Got mine today.

Can you get the flu from sex?

I'm afraid of flu shots, I feel like I'll have a violent reaction to them. Mostly because whenever I take a medication and on the side effects it says, "And in rare cases..." I always have the rare case reaction.

I have no idea if you can get the flu from sex. I would guess yes, as I assume any bodily fluid would transmit germs. So would that make the flu an STD? Then again, I really am behind the times on how germs get transmitted. I'll probably get whatver he has just by sleeping next to him, though last night he slept on the couch to try to avoid infecting me.

I can imagine the disclaimer of a set of birth control pills saying: "Does not protect user from sexually transmitted diseases such as the flu."

The flu is spread from respiratory droplets (anything coming out of his nose or mouth). I think the only two ways it's transmitted is close contact with someone who's infectious (because the droplets don't survive in the air) and direct contact with respiratory droplets/secretions. So you can have sex with him, just make him wear a mask.
