I find rain comforting when I don't have to be at work. When I can just sit at home, I'll leave the tv off and just watch the rain for awhile. But when I have to leave the house, I'm not as much of a fan.
Not sure why, but I know a few people who don't have to work today. It's weird, it's just a normal day. But as much as I didn't want to work today, I'd rather use my vacation days for more fun things. John will be back in a week or so, and we spent the afternoon/evening together yesterday, so I guess it's ok to be at work...
I have no idea why people have today off. It's totally random.
I like early dinners, because that's when I'm hungry :)
J's trip is probably 10 days, but he's hoping to be done in 7, so long as the weather is agreeable. We don't talk at all while he's away, which SUCKS. He calls me when they're leaving the harbor, and then again as soon as they return to it. Which, is nice, but then it's like 12 hours at least before I actually get to see him.
I went home at lunch to say goodbye, that way J wouldn't have to stop in to see me on his way out of town. Perhaps it was that I was only there for a short time, and perhaps it is because it is that time of the month, but I totally burst into tears. Even though rationally I know it's only 10 days and he'll be home, at that moment it felt like forever.

I do love how rain looks against the window. I find it comforting.
