MERRY CHRISTMAS

Dec 25, 2010 20:58

And guess what! I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

You know, someday. But I have the ring now that says it's actually gonna happen :P

What's extra funny is I kind of flipped out on J yesterday over something kind of stupid, and he was soooo mad at me! He spent most of the day not speaking to me, so I was convinced he was going to break up with me. Turns out he ( Read more... )

Oh! So pretty. I like the blue accents. They're blue diamonds? Not another kind of stone? I didn't even know there was such a thing as a blue diamond!

I have no experience with wedding planning, but I have some friends who are professional photographers and I agree with them that getting a good photographer should be a priority. You pay all the money for the other stuff, but if your pictures suck, then you won't have much to show the grandkids down the line. I think I'll probably spend the most for photographers and cake. Mmmm...cake.

My momma is making the cake! It's, you know, her job and all, so I think she would be offended if I asked someone else to do it, BUT I feel like she's going to be way too stressed out. She made my siblings cakes as well, and I know she had a migraine the day before each of their weddings!

Good call on the photographer. I'm hearing that a lot.

THANK YOU!! I added a pic above! It's a diamond with a blue diamond on either side. The band is white gold with yellow gold accents, so it will go with anything :D I love it!

Pretty! I love the blue diamonds, they're so ritzy. As far as wedding plans, if it were me I'd keep it informal and on the cheap side. That way you won't be stressed out about everything that could go wrong and there won't be the possibility of regretting all the money you spent. Plus, you can use the money you didn't spend on the wedding on an awesome honeymoon trip!

I agree with everybody else about getting a good photographer!

We're going informal and cheap. We're thinking next November, J already picked out where he thinks we should have the reception, we're going to see it next week.

And definitely a good photographer! And an awesome honeymoon! So I hope you plan on keeping in touch, because I'm incredibly indecisive and I'm going to be posting a lot!!

Congratulations! So exciting.

I agree with petunia, get a professional photographer. I'd also add avoid the wedding planners- I think if you go that route, you end up with a very cookie cutter wedding.

Yeah, we're down with getting a good photographer (probably the one a friend of mine used) and then doing the rest of the details ourselves. In fact, J thinks that he's actually going to cook food for the reception. I'm going to talk him out of that :P

Do talk him out of cooking- he'll have to much else to do!

I know!! He thinks all he has to do is look nice and say "I do". He's very much wrong.

I'm hoping we can compromise on having a place we both like provide the yummies. For instance, I would like having thai food, but I don't see that happening :P

Congrats!!! So exciting!

My only advice (not from my own wedding of course, but from various friends) is to get a good photographer, and have lots of lists. Lists of lists!

Thanks! I think that's excellent advice! I often make lists and then forget them, so I'm going to have to keep track of that :P
