Okay, I finally uploaded some pictures from my camera, so I thought I'd do a photo post. :)
So, for all you interested, lots of pics behind the cut.
Okay, here's an updated photo of the Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt I'm working. Slow going since I only work on it like.. once every couple months.
The day after Thanksgiving my family and I went tromping around one of the local Christmas Tree farms. And we found one that was already decorated! I present to you... the Christmas Spider.
My brother's finger can be seen slightly behind the spider in one picture. Yah. It was THAT big.
Okay, moving on to prettier things, here are some of the cakes I worked on the past few weeks.
First, here's a Christmas cake. We made impressions in the frosting using cookie cutters and then decorated inside them. Mine is pretty simple, but I like it anyway.
And this was using edible rice paper. We traced the pattern on the paper and piped on top of the rice paper. I found a pretty little koi mandala pattern that I used. And I piped using just little dots instead of stars.
And here was a practice basketweave that I did in prep for the Thanksgiving cake for my family. I thought it turned out pretty fantastic for my first try.
The Thanksgiving Day cake!! I used carrot cake and the top and basket weave are piped using a crusting cream cheese frosting. The roses and brown roping are just colored buttercream. This picture is actually more saturated than the actual cake. The colors were a bit lighter/more pastel in person.
And finally, some pictures of ME. Because I felt like taking some. So if any of you can't remember what I look like, here you go. I took my glasses off for the pictures though. :)
And there you go. Lots of pictures. But oddly non of the pets.... Hmm. I'll have to take more of the animals next time.
