Disclaimer: I wish, I wish upon a star... but until that works, not mine and sadly no money made. None of the pictures are mine either. They are all from Google.
Author's Notes: I'm a very visual person and I like to see what I'm describing at lease in some form when I write. As such, I have a mountain of notes and pictures, images and diagrams that I've pulled together to make this world. I've also got a lot more detail in the background regarding history and cultural practices. This part of the series is to share those images and world glimpses with you.
First, Mycroft's house. Please note, none of these images are exact. You'll notice deviation in the text away from the images, but there are certainly elements that are inspired by them, and so they appear here. I hope you all find them as helpful as I do.
If you've wondered here by mistake, you may wish to start at Part I of the series,
Rarest of the Rare: Chapter 1.

The Drawing Room.
This image inspired the feel of the drawing room, though only really the curtains, the panelling and the idea of the massive painting were actually used in the end. The fireplace is entirely fictitious.
The Conservatory
Freezing cold in winter, the conservatory was inspired by this picture. The garden beyond is still a very nebulous concept in my mind. We'll get to that at a later date.
The Dining Room
The dining room I imagine is the one we see Mycroft in during Scandal. Complete with horse armour. The clock Mycroft is studying is one like this below.
The Brown Room
The Brown Room is one of two rooms that I have adopted almost exactly as they are in these images, so feel free to use them as your own mental maps wholesale. The second image is looking from the "door", the first would be standing at the end of the room.
The Blue Room
Greg's room! This is the wallpaper I was envisaging, though not the bed.
Mummy's Room
This is the other room I adopted wholesale, because once I saw it... there was no turning back. I could never have imagined this without the visual guide. I strongly suggest you have a look at the pictures, but they can't be
url'd in to display.
That's all for now, but there will be more later.
