7/29/2006 = love.
Okay so. Last night....was amazing. Really, I can honestly say it was the best night of my life because it's the only thing I've really wanted for the past 3 1/2 years.
Shannon and I left my house around 4:45 because we were tired of waiting around. We get to Merriweather around 5ish and decide to walk around. We see these two girls over by the gate near the tour busses so we decided to walk over to them. We introduced ourselves etc etc. Theyre names were Emily and Gaby (I think it was Gaby.), and oh my god they were so funny. We asked if they were looking for Andrew, and they were. We waited outside those gates before the show for like an hour and a half. We saw Casper and called him over, which he did. He told us Andrew might come out to see fans but he couldnt promise anything. After a while we saw Andrew come out of the tour bus and we were calling him over, and he looked over at us and blew us a kiss, but he couldnt come over to us since they had to go backstage.
So the gates open and we go inside and walked around a little. We see Casper coming out of the VIP area, which was where the meet and greet was being held. We defintiely could have gotten in had I read Casper's update on the Messengers about meeting at Will Call, but I didn't and so I didn't know about it. There were supposed to be 30 people there and only 16 showed up. Anyways, we were standing by the VIP area when Andrew was coming out and he had to jump in a golf cart to go back to the tour bus, but he was literally within an arm's reach of us.
We made friends with some meet and greet people and I got a lot of compliments on my Andrew is my Homeboy shirt which was cool. We met Tessa icefall__ and hung out with her for a little while in the pavillion befre the show and met other messengers. When Jacks came on we all ran to the front row (couldn't get to the pit) but it was still kickass. They played (not in order) Bruised, Holiday From Real, Kill the Messenger, Dark Blue, American Girl (by Tom Petty), Into the Airwaves, The Mixed Tape, La La Lie, and MFEO/You Can Breathe, with a little but of U2's With or Without You It was incredible. I almost cried during Dark Blue, no lie.
After the set a lot of JM fans left. Shannon and I decided to go back to the gates where we were hanging out earlier with Emily and Gaby. We met one of the guys who works there, Jason, who told us we could hang out there. My cell phone starts ringing and as I'm looking through my purse, Andrew drives away in this car with his fiancee. Shortly after I found out he was supposed to take her to Little Italy in Baltimore for dinner but it fell through, so they were going somewhere else.
Jason told us he'd be coming back but he had no idea how long it would be, and that it could have been from like 2-5 hours. So I was just like, I dont care, I'm waiting. And we did. For 3 1/2 hours. We threw a cup back and forth 317 times. Around 11:30 the place was empty. OAR had finished there set by 11 so it was pretty much cleared out. Around 11:40, we see Andrew's car drive up. We start waving and we see him and he looks at us and was like "Hold on!" So the car stopped and he kissed his fiancee and got out to meet us. I can honestly say he is the nicest person I've ever met in my life.
I can't really remember the entire conversation because I was so excited. First he thanked us a lot for coming to the show and apologized for being so long. He was like "Sorry for making you guys wait, my fiancee came to town to see the show so I took her out to Dinner" And I was like "I heard you guys went to Baltimore, what restaurant?" And he said some Italian restaurant, that even he couldnt't pronounce. I told him that I bought tickets for Sonar. He was like "Oh good! Good girl." and I was liike "Yeah I've never been there so it should be cool" And he said "Yeah me either, it's a first for both of us then" He also thanked me for supporting the cause with my shirt. We told him about our cup throwing (and probably sounded like complete idiots, but hey, we were bored) I was like "Yeah, we threw a cup back and forth 317 times. She dropped it." And Andrew was like to Shannon "Ahh and you were the one [to drop it]" It was cuteee. He signed my ticket and my Everything in Transit booklet, and we of course got pictures with him, which he couldn't have been more generous about. He thanked us again for coming and I asked for a hug so he did :) I give him a 10 on the hugging scale.
All in all, amazing night. Really really amazing night. I miss itt.
