I always take the dustjacket off to read the books, of course, so that it doesn't get scuffed or anything. When I got my book, I was handed it in a bag, and didn't stop to really look at the book itself until after I had gotten home and was ready to start reading it.
I edged it out of the dustjacket very carefully. I was terrified that I would accidentally flip open the end of the book.
I was shocked to see the color of the book under the dustjacket. I actually really dislike the color orange, so I was surprised to see this very peaceful, spring-like green and yellow. It was not what I was expecting at all. And then when I opened up and saw that the inside was this blood-red, that was equally shocking. I find those colors to be really striking. So much so that it's really stuck with me.
I'm not sure what those colors mean, but I assume it has to mean something.
