I think that my cat attempted to kill a mouse last night, and that I wasn't appropriately grateful. Either that, or it was a really vivid dream. I remember waking up at some ungodly hour to find something damp and squishy on my bed. I assumed it was a hairball and couldn't figure out how the cat could've coughed it up so close to my head without ( Read more... )

It's making me all kinds of nervous about what I'll find when I get home and in the next couple of days. The smell of decaying mouse is narsty.

And I want to hear all about your weekend, lady!

The horror...

On the upside, you may in fact have a fully functional cat!

I'd call him 95% functional right now. He would be 100% if only he'd kill roaches, too.

He freaked out again tonight, chasing something all over the bed and my room. I don't understand.

It might have been a mystery creature. Cats have a tendency to invent things to kill in the absence of real things to kill.

Also, in my experience, they don't tend to kill bugs dead as much as play with them, often killing them by mistake and then losing interest.

Funny, it's just now occurring to me how similar these traits are to human behavior. :)

I dunno. I've had cats that caught and ate flies -- but I guess roaches are too uninteresting, earthbound creatures that they are.

Hurricane has torn my room apart the past two nights chasing something. I've woken up yesterday and today to find my shoes scattered all over the room and into the living room. This was no ordinary kitty boredom.

One day, perhaps, the inexorable forces of evolution will produce a species of cat that effectively kills roaches.

We can only hope.

In the meantime:

Eeew.

Oh, and btw, you're new to my f-list.

Because I can't wait to see how this turns out.
