Cross a burqa with swimwear to get a "burkini". I wish I were kidding, but apparently the designer has already sold 9,000 of them.

Oh, the Christian modesty suits are atrocious!! Could they possibly have designed anything less flattering?

It's not the idea of the suit that I'm questioning -- swimming is always good and it's damn near impossible in a burqa. I'm just confused how something that form-fitting (compared to, say, a burqa) is supposed to be modest. I mean, yes, it covers 90% of the wearer's skin -- but it shows a lot more curves than a burqa.

I wonder how many women have bought them, only to have their fathers/husbands/brothers/etc. look at the thigs and say, "Nuh-uh, you're not wearing that. Too form-fitting. Everyone can see tits and ass." I feel like a better indicator would be how many of the women buying them actually make it to the beach/pool in their burkinis.
