a(n) earring
g. 2838. Sakurai Sho, Horikita Maki.
Sakurai meets a charming girl.

Edited but unbeta’d.

This particular story is many months later than intended, but hopefully the writing is better for it. Inspired by __sine and her stunning Storm Children AU, especially this later addition to the canon, a girl. While it could probably be read alone, um ( Read more... )

horikita maki, *team arashi/sweet power forever, arashi, **fic, sakurai sho, je, sweet power

I have gotten to the point after reading this (about three times) and then rereading all that is connected to Storm Children that I do not know what words are anymore. The way you've written this feels like such a return to Storm Children, where you get information, but it's in wisps here and there, and it takes a little bit of piecing together to figure everything out. I love Sho here--how he's really trying to figure everything out, but without needing magic. Oh that dialogue about the gun that was from the original seems different now. I love the friendship that Sho/Maki established and how it is reignited again. The whole thing with the newspapers and how thought-out that was, damnit, you amaze me all the time.

I can't even tell you how great this was. *__________* I just really loved it and oh, what a sandbox to play in. ♥♥♥

I love you so very, very much. I'm so glad to hear you thought this fit in with Storm Children because I was so worried it wouldn't feel quite as right and I'm so askjasf happy you liked the newspapers bit because it was SO fun for me to think out and I'm glad the Sho/Maki friendship came off well instead of, idk, out of nowhere.

I mean it when I say I want everything I write to be for you (so long as that means you will write everything for me, which, let's face it, that's what our relationship is ILU). ♥♥♥

Comment exceeded the character length, so:

I mean, once again - thank you for writing this. I'm still reeling from the fact that you took the time and effort to, and from how perfectly it fits in with everything else in my head. Your writing this, and how beautifully you've written this, really makes me want to delve back into the universe and write some more, if only so that I can build on some of the details you've added here. This is lovely, lovely stuff (I feel I may have overused this word) and I am so pleased to have read it.

AHH HELLO. I AM STILL SUPER GLAD YOU LIKED THIS OMG. And if this is your incoherence, I shudder to think what everyone else's incoherence sounds like - you made perfect sense to me. *___*

It took about when I first mentioned wanting to write this to about now to get the tone as right as I figured it'd ever be, so your saying it was like wandering into a part of the story you hadn't yet discovered - I, this is such high praise and I'm super, super happy & giddy it came off that way. I'm also so happy you liked the Sho POV & that it wasn't something you really considered (because that means it wasn't something I ruined)! To be honest, he was the character whose motivations I least understood during Storm Children just because he was...so normal compared to the rest of Arashi, and so removed from much of the magical action until the very end so part of me kept wondering - what was he doing? And that's sort of where this idea was born - that and a girl bringing Maki to the forefront as another normal person surrounded by abnormal people ( ... )
