SO. since it's been forever and ever and ever since any of you have heard from me, i've decided to start back by dropping an incredibly HUGE bombshell on y'all.

i'm pretty sure i'm moving to europe. greece (santorini island, probably the city of Oia) or italy.

cool, huh?!

When I was scrolling through my Friend's List, I saw your post and was planning on putting a 'WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?' comment, but when I read what you actually posted...

WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GOING?

And why are you leaving me? Is it because I'm black? CAUSE I CAN CHANGE.

hahaha... yeah, kimi. it's totally cuz you're black.

well, it's pretty much what i've been telling everyone... i'm going cuz i want to, cuz i can, and cuz there's nothing to hold me back.

Wow, hun. That is so...spontaneous.

If you do end up going, I better get to hang out with you one last time before you go. I miss you already as it is and I'm only about 9 hours away.

Again, wow. It actually seems like a good idea. I hope that you know what you're doing and go for whatever you want to do. I also hope that one day, maybe, I'll be able to visit you and you can show me the sites. ;)

Love you, hun. You best keep us all updated. Or else we'll plan a jihad on your ass. ;)

lol, people keep asking me if i just sort of woke up one day and decided "i think i'll move to greece." and... that was kind of what it was like. but it's not like i haven't started to think it through. it's not just "oh, i'm going to greece," it's, "i want to go to greece, let's see what i need to do to make it happen."

i hope i will be able to hang out with you before i leave... it looks like it will probably be february when i leave, possibly a little later. depends on how things end up ironing out. but you'll be up in ro po at the beginning of next semester, right? i can definitely catch you then.

you'd BETTER come visit me. because i think i'm going to end up in one of the most gorgeous places in the world (if you get a chance, check out santorini island on google). and i'd love to have people come visit me.

i'll most certainly keep you updated, chicky! i think this is going to go from "carrie's LJ" to "carrie's progress towards moving to europe." just because it all needs documentation.

<3 you!

Eh, you don't want to go to Santorini. It's flooded with tourists day in and day out all day every day. Pick a less popular island if you're thinking of that area.

are all areas of santorini so tourist-packed? i've read that Fira and Oia are huge attractions, but is the entire island like that?

It's a giant tourist attraction. Not all parts of the island are packed with people, but it's a cruise ship port in a major way. The only other island I can think of off hand that's the same way if not worse is Mykonos. They're both beautiful islands, but they're also the most well known. Try going to http://www.greeka.com/ for an overview of all of the islands. Actually, the mainland is just as beautiful.

i've practically lived on greeka.com since i came up with the idea; great site.

since you're the only person i have access to who's been there (stepdad's sister has been, but we don't talk much. ever. at all.) i'm hoping to bounce ideas off of you...

was there anywhere you went that seemed to have a higher population of english speaking people? seeing as how i know NO greek whatsoever (i CAN order food at a greek restaurant, but i don't see as how that counts) i was hoping to find someplace with at least a few people who speak half-way decent english. i guess touristy places are going to have that, but they'll mostly be tourists... and that doesn't help me much.

mara, thank you for your help! you're awesome.
