How many degrees does it take to find an DVD+/-RW?

I got my new computer for work today, and I was excited. It's a really kick ass machine. However, when I set it up, I immediately noticed that it only had one optical drive (a DVD-ROM), when it should have had two (the DVD-ROM and a DVD+/-RW). Ok, fine. This illustrates ideally why you are a software engineer.

The first thing you did upon receipt of your machine was to plug it in and turn it on.

WRONG!

Any electrical/computer engineer worth his/her salt knows that, if you have to buy a prebuilt machine, the first thing you do is OPEN THE SUCKER UP! Immediate vivisection is the correct move and would have saved you precious minutes of frustration.

After your thrid paragraph I was wondering if there was a hidden drive in there, but I didn't believe that Dell would be that dumb. I would have been impressed if they managed to break the optical disk drivers that come with XP.

So... do you get a third drive for free?
