i'm going to be an american citizen soon and i've decided to change my name.  i know i've complained to a lot of you already about how much i dislike my first name and how much grief it has caused me over the years.  no one, unless they are turkish, can pronounce it.  because of people's inability to pronounce my name, i go by mel which i dislike ( Read more... )

i can't even imagine changing my name...i've never thought about it but while i was reading this i was and its just so strange to think about!

Hello Esra. I like your new name and think it fits you. One great thing about America is the freedom to change one's name and start over. I did it almost 20 years ago and never regretted it. Good luck.

it's mel-tem with an accent (french) on the second e? it's kind of hard to explain and i haven't been able to find a single video online on how to pronounce it.

i like it a lot more than my real first name. my parents ever agree that it suits me better. it's really strange but i guess they couldn't have known until they met me haha.
