Is it at all possible for you to speak to your boss and tell him how this extra work is stopping you from getting your normal work done? Surely he is reasonable and will see how impossible the situation is at the moment.
Could you say - I'll do it AFTER I have finished my normal work. After all, if you break down, who is going to do it all?
Take a deep breath and SLOW DOWN! Tough luck if it isn't all finished when they want it. I'm sure they won't fire you as you are too valuable to them. After all, if you manage to get it all done, by some superhuman effort, I bet they won't give you any extra thanks!
Remember when you were working for some other company and they had to hire extra people to do what you did by yourself? Why not ask for an assistant if they want it done so urgently?

BTW. I don't remember you having root canal work down, unless you organised it yourself.

Iss,
You are in a lot of pain and on painkillers. The massive load you are normally just able to juggle is going to be almost impossible for you to handle at the moment. I seriously think you should take a few days off, work on YOU getting better, let the company go to hell for a few days and just recover. This is what sick days are for, you will be no good to anyone freaked out and super stressed. If the workload is too much or just enough for you at the best of times, they may see by you being away that they need to reorganise or you will leave due to stress and pressure. Look to yourself a bit here Iss. Get your health and stuff together, rebuild you strength and then face the work stuff.
As big as the work seems, you may not be physically capable of handling it now. Take 10 minutes to think about yourself, your health and what you need right now.

I really hope things get better, I'm thinking about you and hoping you get well soon.

Love, Chris

Both your replies have made me very weepy. thank you. its good to have a bit of sympathy, sometimes that alone can make me feel better.

And to top my bad week off i forgot to set my alarm so was in mad panic mode this morning, not a good start to a day, but have recoup and am going to speak to my boss about an assistant. I use to only look after 2 PMs plus all my project coordinator work, which use to keep me in the office till 8pm some nights before river, now they have expanded my role and i look after 3 teams, 40 people in all plus still have my coordinator role.... ahhhhh. but then, if i whinge too much they will say that is why i get paid so well, and im a contractor so dont get paid when i have days off, but i am going to have a nice easy weekend this weekend, it is mothers day over here on sunday so plan to put my feet up and get river and doc to look after me.
you are right though, i do need to do something, i nearly burst into tears at a parking attendant the other morning, getting myself too worked up.

i defintely had a root canal. I remember it very clearly as it was terribly painful and took ages and he was pulling my nerves out one by one (or thats what it felt like) i was quite young and it was at that dentist in epping near the ramp, near the butchers we use to go to at epping station. remember??

I remember the dentist, one at that address went out of business, one was a twit after money, but I did not remember you had root canal therapy. Until you have the pain it is just words, so in the middle of scrapes and facing bankruptcy with Chateau Douglas a lot of life things went through to the keeper in ths struggle to keep solvent, outthink delinquent bastards trying to cheat, drain us or drag us down through ignoring business direction given them
I hope your coccyx is allowing you a little more comfort.
Love,
Dad.
