What a knee jerk liberal response. Thew government is trying to encourage employers to hire young people. Yes, it would be great if you could never get fired, but if you are an employer that makes it a lot less likely that you're gonna want to give a person a chance. Consequently, they have an absolutely apauling unemployment rate. They want their job security even if it means choking the lifeblood of the economy. So yeah cheer on the pointless protests against a relatively small law that really isn't that big of a deal. Oh no! an employer can fire you after 2 years if you've proven that you're totally inept. Obviously the French government is in the pocket of the multinational French business consortium.

Fair enough, I'll admit I mispoke. My reference to "gang raping rights & social safety nets" was more with regard to far far far far far far far worst things happening here getting no social response whatso ever (the Bankrupcy Bill that decimates the rights of small buisness, Government Surveillance etc.) I was trying to make a clever comparison to the extreme reaction of the French people to a not-so-offensive piece of legislation to the total absense of reaction to horrifying legislation and illegial executive actions by the American people, and it came off the tracks ( ... )

Oh I hadn't heard of the bankrupcy bill send me a link to that. Also, the whole joke wasn't so much about what the French are rioting about. It's more a comment on the fact that they love to riot. It's the national pastime.
