Book Suggestions

I am looking for new books to read.  I have noticed that my literature consumption has declined since I quit smoking and I need to turn that around.

Please comment if you know of any good books I should read.  I am particularly interested in Fantasy and Historical Fiction, but I am willing to consider Science Fiction and any other Literature as

Have you read World War Z?

It is made of awesome.

OMG yes - possibly one of the greatest books of the century. It is a novel I wish I had written.

I love it so so much.

I've bought maybe a half dozen copies because I'd loan it out, then need to reread, then loan another--though loan might not be the right word.

Since loan implies they come back!

I've ben enjoying the Discworld collection, which might be considered more humour or farce than true fantasy, but it is still fantastic.

I've actually read some of those. I found they were hit or miss for me, kind of like Kurt Vonnegut. I loved Mort, that was probably my favorite.
