I just found the 20 pounds I lost...

A cooler is a giant plate, yes? Since you ate some candy from the cooler, finished it less than half way, and then proceeded to walk away, that totally counts against you.

THE MAGICAL 8-BALL WAS RIGHT.

I refute this claim!

The cooler is not a plate - it's a giant take-out box! Since the said food item is at home, different rules apply. At home, there is the convenience of storing food for indefinite periods of time. You don't have to drink the entire gallon of milk at once - that is the joy of refrigeration.

This 50% takeout/clean your plate rule only applies at restaurants, where you know that if the food is not eaten or salvaged, that it will go to waste. And good food should never go to waste! (Especially if I'm payng 10-20+ dollars for it.)

Don't worry though, I've been finding ways to outsmart that Magic 8 Ball for years...

Do not eat the candy, Meli!!

Just call Goose and Blash over. It will be gone in mere moments. Not only will you get a rather silly sugar-enduced show for your entertiament, your hips will be safe!

Oh, you are welcome to it, my friend.

However! You must be able to muster the courage and fortitude to walk the whole two blocks down to my house. Can you accept this challenge? If you manage to brave the hazards of trained attack sprinklers, looming parked cars, and the infamous overgrown prickly pear guarding your path, you will be rewarded handsomely my dear.
