You know how we have always thought we were so very similar in our manner of thinking? Well, we were correct.

I haven't reached your level of completeness but I do so very much want to. And I know exactly where I am. I'm you. Your past and I just haven't woken up yet. And I don't know how to leave this "numb reality". This dream world. Oh, how very much do I need to wake up. Sometimes I think I can understand, but then it slips away, lost in my personal doubts and criticism.

I cried. Cause who you were I am now. Not constantly but sometimes. And it breaks my heart. Cause I know I have the power but I dont know what to focus on. I really really dont. Your body is your temple. I'm afraid I wont reach mine.

But thanks to you, this entry, and everything in between, I will try to find it. To understand and fully commit to it. Goddess help me.

Thank you Maureen.

With Love,
Brittney

p.s. When have the Beatles ever been wrong?

Happiness can come in many ways. It does not have to come from completely burning down the "old you" and supplanting your personal values with self obsession. Rather, you can embrace your complexity and intelligence, and focus it towards helping others and better understanding the world around you. I can say very little with certainty, but I am positive that eschewing all ambitions that transcend physical fitness and partying is not the key to long term happiness. There is a reason why societies ranging from the ancient Greeks to tenth century Buddhists to modern Christians have all deplored vanity and superficiality ( ... )
