Thanks so much that was amazing! Obviously I liked the 1971 clip best - the incredibearded youth worker "channelling childrens' aggression" by making them eat ashy potatoes! The mysterious "Mr Cox" and his leggy lovelie secretary! The apparently aimless and totally unexplained laboratory procedures! The sinister but oh-so-telling juxtaposition of disco dancing with bloodthirsty martial arts scenes!

To be honest, with its assured employment prospects even for school-leavers with no O-levels or skills, Stevenage 1971 does seem pretty bloody utopic to me! Yes, Britain was once a [relatively] happy land in the days before young people were expected to mire themselves in thousands of pounds of university debt in the hope of a job, only to be told that there are no jobs and "have you thought about volunteer work?" But Thatcher and her chums have ruined that party for everyone. Still at least Stevenage is still making promotional videos all these years later, and they still seem ever-so-slightly desperate. (And now there's the dubious ( ... )
