I might have seen it slightly differently as it's become inexcusable to not be available to anyone and everyone, all the time. Every organisation with which you interact expects to get your phone numbers and e-mail. Everyone is available non-stop by cell phone (and probably using Twitter to ensure that no-one they know feels left out), and takes their Blackberry on hols to monitor their work e-mail. Your right, this isn't just a high street problem this is an issue that is invading every aspect of everyday life. I am considered very strange for not liking to speak on the phone, text at least does afford you some breathing space. It is however so true, people want answers immediately, impatiently and demand demand demand. I selfishly want to hide, often quietly with a book, cup of tea and a nice biccy or snuggle up to my man in peace. Why are we then considered to be so rude?
