IC CONFESSION MEME

Let's make this simple!

1. Post with your character, canon, and any prefs. Either leave a blank comment or if you'd like, have your character start the thread by confessing something - it can be a purposeful confession or something completely accidental.

2. Reply to other threads, either confessing to the original thread-poster, or ( Read more... )

It seems I've acquired yet another addiction.

[There's a long pause, weighing his words more carefully than usual.]

That I'm intrigued by the inner workings of them. Because it could be useful. For casework. [Those last additions are last ditch attempts to preserve his detached demeanor, though he knows it's heavy-handed and probably less convincing than he hoped it was.]

I seriously doubt you think it'd be useful for casework.

It could be. [Cue petulance.]

It's often a motive, you know. [And cue sulking.]

This is exactly why I didn't want to say anything. I knew you'd get the wrong idea. [Or the right one.]

I doubt that I have the wrong idea, Sherlock. But we'll let you think otherwise.

[He just glares like he's trying to set you on fire with it.]

You aren't giving me much incentive to want to tell you anything ever again.

Sherlock, there is nothing wrong with you wanting to get more into relationships or knowing about them.

Perhaps you should just explain them to me, then. Maybe it will stave off my curiosity enough so I can get back to normalcy. [There was the remaining curiosity as to what the physical aspect would be like, but he thought he'd divulged enough of his innermost thoughts for one day.]

One cannot explain something like that, Sherlock. It has to be experienced.

That's not really an option, either because the other party can't stand me or I can't stand them. Just explain it, it can't be that difficult.

It is that difficult. It has to be experienced. There is no other way.

[He gives a frustrated half-sigh half-growl.]

Then I'm at an impasse. There's no way for me to experience it, so there's nothing to be done for it. [He wasn't sure what he expected from all this, but he had hoped for a bit more to go on to aid in his understanding.]

Tea, then?

How is it you can't experience it? You do have me here, Sherlock. [Simple and to the point even as he goes to make them both a mug of tea.]

[He flounders at that, feeling like there was a blank spot in his hard drive for how to react to this.

Now would be the time John finally decides to make their tea. At least it gave him a moment to stop gaping and compose himself before John returned.]

I er...well.. [Or, you know, maybe not so much.]

Sarah? [He ventures, knowing John was far too himself to ever cheat on someone. Still, it was true that he hadn't heard much about her lately, so maybe they'd split up.]

[There's a bit of silence as John makes their tea and the question throws him off a bit.]

I told you a while back that we were no longer together. You just weren't listening.

Oh. Right. [Maybe he did remember being pleased at that fact because it meant John would never be out of reach if he needed him on a case. This whole conversation was throwing him quite a bit as well.]

So, you're saying you would aid in my study?
