Relationship; 4 ...kind of. towersandragons November 16 2011, 13:36:06 UTC
There are a lot of ways a long-overdue reunion with Spain could have gone. Kain mulled over all of them, he thinks, in the time he had to himself while traveling to see his lover. But nothing has prepared him for how this reunion is really going to go.

The holy dragon knight stands, reserved, on one side of the threshold when Spain opens the door and his first instinct is to pull the smaller man into a strong embrace. It's been so long since he's last seen the Iberian Nation and equally as long since they kissed. Before meeting Spain, he didn't think of himself as a terribly needy individual, at least as far as physical attention went. When he lays eyes on Spain again now, he realizes, shockingly, just how deeply he's missed waking up every morning to a kiss on the temple and a tight - albeit sleepy - hug.

"Spain..." he says quietly, but he doesn't give in to his urges. Even after all this time, Kain still responds to situations he feels nervous in with thinly disguised shyness. Knowing Spain so well doesn't have much effect on that

Kind of is good? XD si_espana November 16 2011, 15:28:46 UTC
It's supposed to be another ordinary day. Spain wakes up a bit late as usual, sleeping away the late night he had and taking his time to enjoy the sunshine coming in through his wide bedroom windows. Then it's time to prepare for work--take a shower, dress up in a suit and make sure all his documents are in order. And then lastly, there is Joaquin, tiny, blue-eyed Joaquin, the new addition to Spain's household and family. Spain makes it a point to at least sit with him for a while before he leaves each morning. The boy has finally started to get used to his new home and to Spain himself though he is still shy and quiet for the most part. The Iberian Nation doesn't push too much, given what the boy has gone through, and takes each day, each shy smile Joaquin grants him as it comes ( ... )

As predicted, Kain is knocked backward by the brunet flying into his arms, hitting his chest so hard. Thankfully, he manages to catch himself before any real damage is done, but he doesn't let them stand there outside once Spain has launched himself at the dragoon. That seems to shatter any lingering hesitation and uneasiness Kain felt about returning, unannounced nonetheless, because he receives the kiss gratefully and he actually lifts the Iberian Nation up, wrapping his legs around his hips for him so he can clumsily carry him back inside the house ( ... )

When Kain picks him up and takes him back into the house, Spain has no choice but to let it happen. Not that he wants to be anywhere else right now. He's missed Kain enough that the dragoon could carry him back up to his bedroom and the Iberian would hardly notice. He's too focused and distracted with Kain's intense and overwhelming presence over and against him. His kisses and touches burned, like he swallowed the sun and it's bursting to come out of him. In response to the searing heat of Kain and his touch, he arches and presses, hums and groans, shameless in reveling in his lover's closeness after so long. His hands touch everywhere they could, running heatedly all over Kain's ripped torso and back, eventually slipping into long blond hair and tangling and holding. And he continues to kiss him, practically devouring him, hardly coming up for air. The dragoon can take him against this wall now and he wouldn't care who sees ( ... )

Indeed, Kain is extremely keen on that idea and Spain never even has to ask him once; his big strong hands hold Spain in place by the thighs as his mouth eventually makes its way heatedly down the brunet's chin and throat to his collarbone and neck, biting and licking, kissing and sucking. He deeply breathes in the warm, citrusy, familiar musk on the other man's skin, his own throat tight with unsaid emotion as one of his hands already starts to work on greedily unbuttoning the crisp shirt on Spain. His nice, sharp suit has quickly become anything but, disheveled and now with a few buttons missing thanks to Kain's impatient hand ( ... )

The sight of that rumpled suit would drive Romano into a fit, ranting about idiot Spaniards and ruined Italian craftsmanship. Thank goodness he's nowhere near, which is a bit surprising, considering how he practically spends half of his time in his former Boss' house. The addition of Kain in Spain's life, however, has lessened Romano's visits, which is unfortunate, really. The dragoon scares the living daylights out of the South Italian nation and he does his best to stay away whenever Kain is in residence ( ... )

The dragon knight positively vibrates with excitement and lust when the Spaniard begs him in his native tongue and Kain grunts an incoherent agreement to the other man's non-specific, specific plea. It makes him shudder that with delight - moments like this. That he and the Iberian Nation can immediately align together on the same wavelength without ever saying a complete sentence to one another has always been a very significant detail of their relationship to Kain. He loves that he doesn't have to say much for Spain to know how he feels and that he's not constantly questioning his own worth to the other man because Spain's feelings for him are very clear ( ... )

The sudden change of mood is like a plate being thrown hard at the ground. It breaks to pieces with a loud crash, bits and pieces flying everywhere hard and fast enough to hurt.

One minute, he's high, climbing up even higher towards what promises to be an explosive climax after so long. Kain's lips on his skin makes him ache and shiver just as his stroking hand leaves his head light and knees weak. But just as Spain was desperate to plead, to beg for more, it all stops. Green eyes crack open, a whine escaping him in protest. He breathes hard, reaching for Kain to pull him back when he hears a scream. A very familiar scream. A very familiar, tiny scream.

"...Joa-JOAQUIN!"

And there, small and looking so furious, is Joaquin. With a stick. And he's jabbing at Kain with it.

The sight quickly spurs Spain to action, practically pushing away Kain and falling all over himself to get covered up and get the little boy to stop attacking his knight. Tanned cheeks turn redder but for a different reason now as he calls off the boy. I'm a bad ( ... )

Kain has no idea what's going on - what just happened, but he's at least shunned enough to have the good sense to back away even in spite of how hard he's reeling from being attacked while he was in such a vulnerable position. He never expected that to happen, even in spite of how they were fooling around right in the entrance hall of Spain's house. Romano is too intimidated by him to do anything and everyone else just never... did that when he shows the dark-haired nation any sort of affectionate attention ( ... )

Joaquin is so strong for someone so small, his obvious rage fueling him. Spain has to hold onto him fast lest he gets away and launches himself at Kain again. He's more concerned about Kain as he knows the dragoon would never harm a child, but Joaquin would have no such qualms. He tries to reason with Joaquin, speaking gently but firmly, trying to make him settle down. Somehow he's able to gauge why his adopted son is so upset. After seeing what they have been doing, just imagine what an innocent child must have concluded: his new Papa being attacked by this big, towering stranger.

Eventually, Joaquin tires, sniffling and clinging to Spain, but still eyeing Kain with a healthy dose of mistrust and anger. Spain doesn't know whether to be saddened or proud of such a display. He hadn't wanted their first meeting to be like this.

And poor Kain. He looks so confused, lost and Spain doesn't blame him. He has yet to actually tell the blond about Joaquin, not really knowing how to break the news to him. The subject of children (marriage) ( ... )

The way the child keeps glaring at him accusatorially makes him feel guilty and remorseful, as though he's done something wrong, but he silently reminds himself that this is likely simply a very big misunderstanding. He doesn't expect a boy that young to understand what he and Spain were doing - would hope he didn't - but that still doesn't explain why the boy is even there to begin with.

The dragon knight takes a few moments to comb his fingers through his own long blonde hair, straightening the locks out after Spain's desperate assault on them moments ago. The action is also a little bit of a distraction too because Kain is very apprehensive about what his next move should be. He looks to Spain, pleadingly, still stunned and nervous, since he takes his cues from the brunet in most cases where national business is concerned and this situation is one he can only fit under that same heading. He waits to be called over, for an explanation, anything really. Spain's smile is mildly comforting, but he's hesitant to make any presumptions ( ... )

Spain hears that catch in Kain's voice and feels terribly guilty. This would probably not be happening if he had told Kain about Joaquin before all this. He doesn't like that look on his lover's face and he wishes he could make it go away, make this easier for him.

He looks down to Joaquin who is still holding on so tightly to him. He smiles down to the boy, fond and affectionate, and brushes a kiss over his little dark head. "Si." The Iberian Nation admits, not looking at Kain again quite yet. "He is, in a way."

It takes another moment, of deliberation and decision, before Spain raises his eyes to Kain again. He looks pleadingly to him as he rises, taking up Joaquin into his arms. "Will you please wait for me in the living room?" Spain's Madrid townhouse has three living rooms; Kain knows which one he is speaking of, though. "I just need to give Joaquin over to his niñera."

Numbly, Kain only nods and turns on his heel sharply, heading for the aforementioned room. He's.... stunned. The child is... Spain's? Does that mean he's been with- No. The dragoon quickly cuts off his train of thoughts there. No, there is more to this story. Spain said that the boy was his in a way. Did nations even have children the way humans did? Kain never had the sense to ask because he figured it would never be an issue for them. Now he wishes he had and his guilt multiplies a little. He should have taken the time before he left to understand Spain better...

The knight sits in one of the armchairs and tries not to fidget anxiously too much. He does his best not to think about anything at all while he waits, but his mind is running a mile per millisecond, honestly. What was going on?

Joaquin has tired himself enough that he ends up falling asleep once Spain tucks him in in his room with his niñera close by. The Iberian Nation takes the time to watch his adopted son sleep for a while, just taking in how he breathes and lies back tiredly against his bed. It's been a while since he's had a child in the house and he relishes each moment he can with Joaquin. He just wishes today didn't have to end up like this for the poor boy. Kissing over his head, Spain leaves him to his rest.

He appears in the living room where Kain waits after a while, bearing coffee and pastries. It's early yet and it looks like he'll be having breakfast with his newly-returned Knight for today. He greets him with a smile and a kiss on the cheek after setting everything down before him.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."

By the time Spain arrives, the dragoon has already stopped wondering about what the child is doing here and has moved straight on to what's going to happen now. He realizes that he just made about the absolute worst first impression an adult can accidentally make with a child. How is that going to affect life here for them? Presuming the boy is a permanent, or at least a long-term resident, what will happen if he never comes to like Kain? What if Kain can't cope with the toddler's presence? What then? Will Spain tell him to leave, for good? He can't possibly justify putting a child out of his home for a grown man and he can't see the Iberian Nation able to do any better with such a situation ( ... )
