Now this is inconvenient.

"Perhaps you are right, but I feel free, not so much afraid as uncertain, and it is worth it. I do not doubt that for a moment." His lips stretch into an almost-smile.

Belial simply cannot understand it. He remembers Virtue but the only thing of His Grace that he recalls is that gaping hole it tore out of him.

"One would be careful, Bel." He is not smiling.

"Careful of what, exactly?" He cocks his head, looking at Belial with open curiosity.

"Well, of me," he chuckled. "But mainly, of temptation. You've got an appetite for drink that could give Beelzebub a run for his money."

"You and temptation are one and the same, darling," he teases, only half-joking.

You're much too far away. It was noted with a sharp tug on Belphegors arm. If Bel won't sit, he'll make him sit.

"Touche," he smiled. "Awefully good at it, aren't I?"

Cue the sly smile.

There's no struggle; he allows himself to be tugged into a sitting position, suddenly much too close to Belial.

"Terribly talented, I will admit," and a smile, because he knows firsthand how easily the other can get what he wants by means of temptation.

It was a strange feeling. Even if he cared for his family, generally, if push came to shove he'd kill them. And even if he cared for his family, truly, he rather liked the idea that so many of them were Falling so they could know that pain but Belphegor was that one big exception. He leaned in on the arm of that chair Belphegor now sat in planting a chin in his palm.

"Do brag a little darling," he asked - not specific about what. He simply wanted to know what was all happening in that mind now a days. He used to know it so well; how much had it changed?

He grins somewhat at that. Even as a demon, he never was much of a braggart. While he indulged in every sin imaginable, pride was never one he made a point of pursuing. Too lazy, he supposes -- too indolent.

"What would you have me brag about, darling?"

True enough. Pride was Belial's gig almost large enough to give Lucifer a run for his money. Honestly.

"Whatever," he spoke with a wave. "Your life now, those you know? Whatever is on that little mind of yours."

"You are on my mind more often than is comfortable," he admits, looking more than a little uneasy with the confession. "I miss you, but I am also extremely grateful and content with the new life I have been granted.

"I feel... conflicted."

That was exactly what he wanted to hear, you must know it. And it not being a lie? Filled him with all sorts of things; ego one of them but you know, there was others. Though his grin shows the swell of pride he feels. He's not about to admit the same; he'd been forced it with Siobhan.

"Conflicted?" He whispered warmly.

He lights a cigarette, just to have something to do with his hands while the words are dragged from him against his will. "I do not wish to return to Hell -- and besides, I doubt that they would have me -- but when I do consider it, the reason is you."

"If I said to you that I would only want your return to Hell under mine, topside, what would you say?" He rose a hand to that chin. "Or if Heaven ever cuts you from it's Light again..."

No, it was unlikely that Belphegor would be welcomed below again. Because Lucifer didn't give a shit about Demons, truly. So once they lost their value they lost their value.

I do not know. My dear ones would likely consider it a betrayal, although it would be tempting..." he trails off, looking into Belial's eyes, searching for something there.
