[He almost tripped over Rinzler, too. What was the enforcer doing there?]

[It was a perfectly reasonable place for a downcycle, really! Someone had to watch over CLU's private room while the admin was at work even if they were mostly out of it.

Rinzler shuddered and rumbled something that almost sounded like words, one hand clenching and unclenching as if it wanted to grab hold of something.]

[Clu didn't understand, really. But he did understand the twitching, or at least, the concept of it.

Which didn't quite explain why he crouched down, curling his fingers around Rinzler's.]

Rinzler is like the cat that sleeps right outside the door when shut out. double_discs July 16 2011, 23:46:56 UTC
[The resultant grip came quick and strong over CLU's hand, painfully strong, but as if instinctively realizing who it belonged to the grip lessen almost immediately.

His rumble steadied into a low purr.]

That's... really precious. Adorable and precious. sys_operator July 16 2011, 23:52:50 UTC
[Clu squeezed gently back when he felt the other program understand and settle. Reaching his other hand to stroke over Rinzler's helmet and down his shoulder.

If he'd meant to do something else, this takes precedent for now.]

[Even unconscious Rinzler has the mind to move with the touch. His purr settles into a content noise.]

[Clu smiles. Moments like these are how he keeps going. Little moments of peace stolen between all the chaos and frustration.]

[He almost whispers it.] It's good to have you here, old friend.

[It wasn't really enough to wake him, but nevertheless the program clearly begins to come out of recompile and slowly become aware of his surroundings. He swivels his helmeted head towards the admin and blinks lazily up at the other program.]

[Clu smiled a little, watching Rinzler come back to consciousness. Stealing the last few moments of peace.]

Hello.

[His rumble rolls up a pitch and back down in greeting, very content sounding.]

Rest well? [And did he need more rest, was the other part of that question. If so, Clu could leave him alone.]

Rolled 6. ...this will end well. updateit July 17 2011, 01:49:36 UTC
[Wait a minute, this doesn't look right. Where is the apartment? Gamma is certain that it had taken the correct route from the office. Two lefts, a right, followed by ten more lefts, an up, a down, a left, a train ride and a final left. Or was that two lefts, a right, ten more lefts, an up, a down, a right, no train ride and one more right turn? ...dammit. The bit hovers in place, fairly buzzing with annoyance for a while before something catches its flighty attention. What is that program doing over there? With no concern for safety it zips over to Rinzler and investigates his sleeping form. Sleeping; what a fine idea! In another display of total disregard for personal wellbeing Gamma promptly lowers itself and settles in the space between Rinzler's helmet and his shoulder. Cozy.]

[The enforcer growls softly at the disturbance but it isn't enough--nor deemed threat worthy enough by standby routines--to stir Rinzler from his downcycle. Instead, after a moment, the security program simply curls up around the bit and squeezes it tightly.]

[Gamma considers protesting the tightness with which the enforcer curls around it but wisely stops just short of actually going through with turning into a spiky ball of ouch and negativity. This is not the first time someone has held it tightly; it has been squeezed and thrown around countless times in the past by various programs. And there is a much lower risk of someone coming along and, say, kicking Gamma where it is currently. Vibrating slightly in satisfaction at this thought the little binary digit nestles down where it is. This is by far the lesser of two evils in its opinion.]

[It is a good thing Gamma reconsiders its protect. Instead of getting thrown or kicked or thrown and kicked, the bit is merely hugged tightly against the security program's chest and kept there despite its annoying little vibration. Still not enough to wake Rinzler...and he rumbles contentedly in his sleep now.]
