[Dean feels the urge to blink. Is that allowed? He's held his eyes open a long time. He gives in and closes them momentarily. But back open and intense as ever.]
See, you'd think it'd be hot, but it's really cold. I've heard that you found out the hard way. Well, it's an unreliable source, but I still worried.
[Dean loses round one. Yes, round one, because Shepard is nowhere near done with the staring. Plus, Shepard finds that the intense look he's receiving suits Dean.]
I did. Hopefully for the last time. Being spaced isn't as fun as it sounds. [Shepard leans forward and props his arms over his lap. Stare not faltering.] I was more worried about you, though.
[Shepard considers giving Dean a break, but then decides against it and continues his stare. Dean's a big boy, he can handle it.]
You know me. I don't like to disappoint. [He smiles, which isn't something he does often, so it fades not long after appearing.] Now's the part where you tell me how you dealt with it.
Ah! I was hoping we wouldn't have to. My distractions are no match for your curiosity. [Okay, maybe Dean's a little tipsy, but not enough to not appreciate the man in front of him]
Well, you know, I sat in my room, played Taylor Swift and cried into my pillow. [he smiles slightly]
No, I...I couldn't do much for a while. But, when I did, I mean I really left an impact. I let go. All of the anger. I took it out on all those creatures. And it felt, it felt good. But now you're back and that feels better.

[Dean just stares at Shepard. One of them has to say something eventually and, personally, he had nothing to say, so he settled for a simple] Yo.

Hey.

So how's the badassery going? It's been awhile.

Going good. I'm as badass as ever. [He smirks.] How're things on your end?

Fantastic. Getting sick of these little bastards, though. And dying. I'm glad I'm done being dead.

I'm glad you're done being dead, too.

Really? [Dean quirks a brow] Let me play shrink and ask you how you dealt with that.

[He's is going to give the same answer he gave Kelly when asked how he deals with the whole, being shot into space, thing.]
I shoot at people. [Good people? Bad people? He doesn't specify.]

Living up to your reputation even after death. [Dean winks.] I like it.

It's good you found an outlet. One that left an impact, even.
And...I'm glad you're here, too. Fighting aliens and mercenaries is boring when there's no one snarking at me.

Well, you also need me to be a kick in the ass when you're doing it wrong.
[And he needs you.]
Y'know, you're the only one I know who would say something like that. Most people think just one is enough excitement for a lifetime.
