Chloe took a step forward and stared up at him, "don't you want what is best for him, Oliver? Do you really think he can grow up to have a normal life around you?"

Oliver opened his mouth to respond, his eyes widening a little. "Do you even hear yourself right now?"

"I do," she cocked her head slightly, "and if you weren't so incredibly selfish, you would agree with me. You ruined your life and now you're dragging us down with you."

He flinched as though she'd hit him. "But I love you," he whispered.

"He's my priority. That doesn't matter."

"Why are you doing this? Why now?" His voice was even quieter than before.

"Because I need to know I've done whatever I could to keep him safe." She took a step away from him, "don't try to find us."
