[It's a small package of letters from Rin, which isn't too surprising since Rin wasn't one to write lengthy letters to begin with. It was odd that the letters were brief, each one briefer than the next.]
March 12 ----
Hey Yukio
I haven't heard back from you in a while. I guess those last letters I sent got stuck in a mail box. No one's heard anything about the battle in True Cross, or they're not telling me what's going on. Shiemi's started washing laundry again. I think she's trying to set a world record for how many sheets she can fold in twelve days. You better start replying to these.
-Rin
March 13 ----
They won't let me outside. I can hear the fighting from here! How the hell am I supposed to help if they won't let me out of here? I'd break out but these stupid bars won't budge. They finally made something I couldn't break, Yukio.
March 15 ----
You are coming home, right? One of the guards was yelling about a Doctor getting injured in the crossfire. That's not you. You've been training for years, Yukio, you couldn't
( ... )
[It was a week after the last letter was delivered before a response was finally returned.]
March 23----
Hey big brother, I'm sorry for the lack of responses but things are getting quite busy over here on this side you, know? A doctor is always in need, right? Hate to cut it short but I have people to-
[The rest of the letter was lost to the rather dark copper stains that was scattered among the note.]
[They wouldn't let Rin have the letter right away. They had to contain him and lock him in an area deeper inside of the prison. But when he was able to finally hold it in his hands, he was relieved. His relief was short lived. Even when he tried to, he couldn't see around the -- ... it couldn't be what he thought it was.]
April 2
About time you responded back. Take care of yourself. If you bleed all over your letters, how am I supposed to read them? I know that your job is important. Just remember me once in a while. It wouldn't hurt you to send a text, you know. The others stopped visiting me, but the guards come in once in a while. Yukio, they're saying that something is wrong with the doctors over there. You're not sick, are you?
[The response this time was immediate, and judging by how quick the letter was received Yukio must be nearby.]
April 4
How can I forget you? You are my big brother, as you often like to remind me.
[Yukio's small and neat writing sharply transforms into a harsh and spidery cursive.]
Don't worry you're pretty little head about me Big Brother I am doing much better. You should be more concerned about yourself, are they treating you nicely?
[The speed of the second letter both surprised and pleased him. His own response was slowed by the guards and the men who wanted to read his letters before sending them out, in case he was responsible in some way... Yukio's words didn't sound like his own. The handwriting's drastic change didn't escape his attention.]
April 6
I can't let you forget that I'm a half hour older than you.
[A pause could almost be felt in the letter. It seems like Rin might have returned to it at a later time, perhaps after a meal judging by the grease stains in the top left corner.]
They feed me, at least. I'm not the one fighting out there, Yukio. They've made it clear that they don't trust me not to turn against them. The last time you were out there with them Yukio, something happened. Promise me it won't happen again.
Rin read the letter again and again but no matter how many times he read it, it refused to make sense. Yukio couldn't have meant Shiro, simply because that would imply that he was dead. No, there was only one other creature Yukio could have meant.
If this was still Yukio.
It had to be. Wasn't there a "one possession per body" deal that Satan had to follow? This time he didn't care if the guards read his letter.]
April 10
Tell me what's been going on at the school. Where's Yukio?
[Once again the response was rather quick- he must be within the outer level of the city, and that wicked writing was once more in charge.]
April 11
Brother, Are you sure that you are okay? Your letters are rather confusing me. I'm on leave so I will be coming back to check on you. I miss you and both of our parents have a gift for you.
[The guards intervened once more. Rin waited anxiously for his letter to come. He had a bad feeling about it all - the fighting, Yukio's haunting handwriting and his words... With nothing but artificial light surrounding him and not a single friend to see him, Rin wondered if this was what it was like to slowly lose one's mind.]
April 16 I can handle myself. When are you coming? [If Yukio could have only seen Rin's face light up. Even as he wrote, his tail wagged back and forth. The words were still unnerving and he couldn't shake off that awful feeling.] I'm bored. Tell them they can keep it, I just want to see you back here, Yukio.

[Rin had just moments between the note and the door opening to take a step back. He'd have reached for his sword but they took it from him, among other things.]
...Who's here? [His voice sounded strange from disuse.]
:T it is if you didn't bring souvenirs pinnedbangsDecember 10 2011, 06:30:46 UTC
[He recognized that laugh. He knew those flames. Rin stumbled backward until he hit the wall behind him. He stood up once the distance was between them.]
Like hell you are! You only look like him! [If only he had a weapon, an escape, something to defend himself with. Most of all, he knew he had to get Yukio back.]
I told you to get me something cool!pinnedbangsDecember 10 2011, 07:06:08 UTC
You don't have anything to do with Gehenna!
[Yukio was human. He was supposed to be human, to stay human. Rin was the one doomed to Gehenna... There was no where to run. He'd have to stand his ground and fight.]
You're not a monster, Yukio! [...Not like your big brother.]

Wrong Big brother....
[He pushes himself off the wall and started to close the distance between them. Everything about Yukio practically screamed of danger.]
Unlike before, I am truly who I appear to be... The true me. The Gehenna me...
