Yay! I was hoping you'd tag!naughtybakesDecember 11 2011, 22:30:38 UTC
[Casey has got a blanket on his shoulder. He's currently holding the baby against his chest in a protective manner. He paces the kicthen, and hums softly. He's trying to get their little bundle to go back to sleep, but the baby keeps babbling. Babbling was better than crying, she he wont complain.
Casey felt Lucie watching him, and he hadn't realized she was in the kitchen with them, he had thought she was in the shower.]
YAY! <3 I couldn't resist. Babies are just yes.piles_of_pagesDecember 11 2011, 22:35:39 UTC
ooc: And since it's your post, you get to choose the sex of the baby. Yay!
[And Lucie can't help but smile. Look at him. She had told him a million times before that he'd be perfect. And here he is, humming to their child. She stands where she is, not moving, trusting him.]
I couldn't resist either!naughtybakesDecember 11 2011, 23:36:48 UTC
ooc; I wasn't sure what sex to pick, so I legit flipped a coin! Got any name ideas? <3
[Their daughter turned her head when Lucie spoke. She knew her mom so well, and it touched Casey's heart. Casey smiled, finally she was starting to relax in his arms again. He gently rubs her back comforting her.]
I think she's far more comfortable. She was crying earlier, now that she's calm, I'm trying to get her to sleep. She's not having it.
ooc: Lily was the first one that came to mind. And it has an 'ee' sound at the end! Perfect.]
Have you sung to her? Maybe she's hungry, she might be hungry...
[And because Lucie can't stay away for too long, she walks over and takes Lily, bouncing her and singing to her. But she doesn't pull away from Casey. She stands close by, needing him for support. No, she can't believe it either. But she wouldn't trade Lily for the world.]
If she is anything like me, she's probably hungry. I'll make Lily a bottle.
[Casey handed their baby to Lucie, and smiled softly when she began to sing. Casey couldn't have imagined a better mother. Everyday, he was more than grateful to be doing this with Lucie. Casey stood close by, he didn't need to leave the kitchen to make her bottle.]
[She kisses his cheek before singing again. Lily doesn't settle down much more but she does at least stop babbling. It's something. She sways in tiny circles, singing softly as the bottle is prepared. Was it planned? No. Did Lucie freak out? Absolutely. Is she the happiest she's ever been? She absolutely is.]
[Casey prepared her bottle, warming the formula in a bowl of warm water. He tested the liquid, feeling that it was safe for his daughter. Casey was still shocked some moments in the day. They had a child, and she was growing and learning. Casey had no idea what he was doing, he had so much to learn. But he did know one thing, he was madly in love with Lucie.]
Okie dokie, her bottle is ready. Do you want to feed her?
[She nods, only because Lily's eyes are already starting to close. But gently, very gently, she pushes Casey onto a kitchen chair so she can sit in his lap. Lily begins suckling the bottle, dozing off as she feeds.]
I still can't get over how beautiful she is. Maybe I'm biased but she's perfect.
[Casey took a seat for her, and smiled when she sat in his lap. He kissed Lucie's neck softly, resting his hand on her waist. They could watch Lily together, and it was sweet.]
No, I think you're spot on. She's gorgeous. I love her little ears and nose. They're just like yours.
[She beams, utterly proud of her daughter, as she snuggles against Casey. Lily continues to suckle even as she sleeps and Lucie takes a hand to brush her barely-there hair from her forehead.]
Casey...
I um...think I need to tell my father. About us. About Lily.
[No. She hasn't yet. She's terrified of the man. If Lucie has anything to say about it, Lily will never, ever feel that way about Casey.]
[Casey watched Lily, letting Lucie's words sink in a little. He's heard only a little about Lucie's father, and not good things. He'd support Lucie, but if it came to actually meeting the man, he would go with her and their daughter.]
It's different for Lily. Other kids will be talking about grandparents and she won't know anything about my family.
I don't want that for her. I want her to know where she comes from. I'm not going to make the same mistakes my parents did by isolating her. I'm going to be better.
[Lucie leans down and presses gentle kisses to Lily's nose, already feeling emotional. She loves her daughter more than she can say and the idea of her hurting her absolutely kills Lucie.]
We don't want Lily feeling different, not if we can help it. We'll make good choices for our child. We'll make different mistakes than our parents.
You're very strong, and Lily is lucky to have you for a mom. I'm by your side. You should give him any chance you feel he deserves and can handle.
[Casey rubbed Lucie's back softly. He knew this was a huge thing for Lucie to be doing. He hoped she didn't hurt herself in the process. She was being brave, and he couldn't respect her more.]
[Lucie gently tugs the bottle from Lily's mouth and sets it on the kitchen table. She loves this, sitting in Casey's lap as Lily rests in hers. They were a perfect family.]
And I'm lucky to have you. Any other man would've run out but you've been there for me. I love you, Case. [She turns around and kisses his cheek affectionately.]
I'm going to put Lily down to sleep. But I'll be right back, okay?
