[ Look, there was an explosion and child service had their hands full and most of the Avengers are elsewhere and somehow, Rhodey got stuck with a baby.

Please tell him you're better with children than he is, because he's kind of afraid he might drop her or-- something. ]

Depends. [ Now Rhodey feels a little sick again. And a lot guilty for even considering it. Maybe he should settle down and take care of her. Steve would help, right?

Yeah, he'll just be over here running a hand over his face. ]

Depends on what? [Of course Steve would help take care of her. What kind of guy did Rhodey think he was?]

If she gets a good foster family, I guess. [ Cut Rhodey some slack, he's a little over-whelmed by the situation. ]

But that can't be guaranteed can it? [He'd cut him some slack if he wasn't so worried now.]

Then we need to find a better solution. [He seems to be doing it right. The little girl just seems to be watching him. Or her surroundings. There's no telling really.]

Neither of us are prime daddy material, let's be honest. [ Nor are any of the people they know. It's all military and para-military. Not the best environment for a little girl. ]

It doesn't matter. I don't trust the system after what I've heard. Besides, we'd get through it. [Jarvis could help... so could Pepper.]

Do that because if we're both going to be taking care of her then we'll both need to know.

[ The thought of taking care of this little girl is both terrifying and humbling. ] We're gonna have to order parenting books, won't we?
