Sam nods, practically running after them. "Y-yeah, please... is he gonna be okay?" He climbs into the back with Chris, and he wants to touch him or just hold his hand, but he doesn't want to get in the way.
The paramedic keeps working as the other one starts the ambulance and drive them off at breaking speeds. "I'm not sure. I'm not a doctor, kid. He's stable enough to transport him right now. What's his name?"
"His name is Chris. Um, Christoph MacManus. He was stabbed," Sam replies desperately. He reaches for Chris's hand, wrapping his fingers tightly around it. "Chris?"
"Christoph MacManus? As in the boxer?" The medic puts a needle into Chris' arm and nods. "Yeah, I got that much from the wounds, kid." He looks at their hands for a moment. "You two together?"
"Yeah, the boxer. Uh..." Sam glances down at Chris, squeezing his hand and getting no response. He's not sure whether he should answer. He knows Chris isn't ashamed of who he is, but he doesn't know if he wants to make their relationship public. At the same time, he's afraid they won't let him stay with Chris if he just says he's a friend. "Um, we... yeah, we're... together."
The medic nods. "I won't go telling any reports kid," He reaches over Chris to push down on the bandages that are soaking through. "I'll make sure you get to stay with him, okay?"
"I bet he'll wake up. He's tough, yeah? I bet he's pulled through worse." The medic looks out the window. "Yeah, a few minutes. What's your name?" He's still working.
"He's been through some really bad stuff already... I didn't want him to have to go through it again." He closes his eyes so he doesn't have to see the blood, taking a deep breath. "It's Sam. What's yours?"
"Yeah? I'm sure he can pull through knowing your waitin' for him." He glances over at Sam. "Jack. I'd offer you a hand to shake but-" He shakes his head because he is gloved up and bloody. The ambulance comes to a quick stop.
"I hope so." He nods, then looks out the window as they arrive. "I hate hospitals... and blood... and all this shit." He clenches his jaw. "I'm staying with him, though."
The other medic comes around to the back to open it. "Just keep positive, Sam. Now jump out." He starts pushing Chris out the back where the other medic is pulling.
He hops down, watching worriedly as they unload Chris. Once he's down he stays beside him, resting a hand on his arm as they enter the hospital. He feels uneasy once he's inside, but he knows Chris needs help, and he's not leaving him alone.
