[Worn out from a crappy day, guess who's knocking on someone's door for a little pick-me-up..]

[This was exactly what she needed; something soft and sweet and all male. Well, all Eliot, since he seemed to have this way of doing things that just sort of melted her]

I'd be kind of stupid to argue that.

[Her lips brushed back over his, tongue peeking out to taste his teasingly before she drew back enough to answer him] Mm.. sounds like the best offer I've had in a long while.

Then you should take it.

[One hand reaching up to brush her hair out of the way, he leaned back in to kisse her again, slower this time, deeper, with more intention to chase that elusive tongue.

In the background, a timer went off but he ignored it in preference for exploring that cavernous mouth.]

[Any agreement or argument she might have made evaporated from her mind at his next kiss. She turned more towards him, hand coming up to rest on his chest as she drew her tongue over his, losing herself quite happily in that shivery feeling he could evoke in her so easily]

[Eventually they had to break apart for air and when the moment came, Eliot eased away from Jess with a last lingering peck on the lips.]

Sounds like dinner's ready. [He whispered against the backdrop of the timer's insistent beeps.]

What'd you say you go wash up while I set the table?

Mmm.. that's probably the best way to spark my appetite.

[She gave him a somewhat lazy smile, then sighed at the mention of moving]

Probably a good idea. It'll give me a moment to compose myself so I don't give into my baser urges and say 'screw dinner'.

[He laughed, a soft base chuckle that cast a mellow expression over the hitter's face that brought out the fact he really was still a young man. He reached down and gave Jesse's butt a light smack.]

Get up. You're not ruinin' those baby lamb chops by lazin' around.

[He got up too, and reached down a hand to help, or pull her to him if she would allow it.] You can save that for dessert.

[Oh, she'd allow it - and a whole lot more. Eliot always had a way of making her feel like the day to day crap she witnessed just didn't matter when she was around him. It was perfect]

Fine, fine, I'll be a good girl and eat my veggies first. [That didn't stop her from leaning in and pressing another soft kiss to his lip]

Besides, you're worth the wait.

Ain't gonna argue that. [Holding himself off from returning that kiss, or else end Jesse's valiant effort at saving for dessert, Eliot grinned and turned towards the kitchen.] You'll like these veggies! [He called back halfway in promise.

While Jesse made herself presentable, Eliot set the table for two. In a moment of inspiration, he pulled out long white candles, dimmed the kitchen lights, and set out wine glasses as well. He had just the right Pinot Noir for the occasion, and he was just setting out the bottle as Jesse returned.]

May I help the lady to her seat? [He walked over and pulled out one of the chairs.]

[She couldn't help but giggle slightly at that - though she mentally scolded herself for it. She didn't giggle.. but apparently around Eliot, she did.

Sitting lightly in the seat, she looked over the table, then tipped her head up to look at him]

You are ridiculously smooth. And charming. And should be working in a five star restaurant. But.. I'm not going to complain about getting you all to myself for the evening, or at getting this kind of treatment. I'm shameless enough to admit I love it.

Honey, they don't pay enough at a five star restaurant. [Not that he was in need of money, or even cooked for money. It was a thing he enjoyed, not a chore, and never a job.

Pushing her chair in slightly for her, he circled around for the dark bottle and held it hovering over her glass.

Grinning confidently, he added.] It ain't shameful to know what you like. Now, some wine?

[She watched him move, the candles flickering slightly as he grabbed the bottle. Nodding, she propped her chin in her hand and watched him pour]

If they don't pay you enough, I'd hate to think what I'm going to have to shell out for a private meal.

[She teased him, waiting for him to seat himself so they could begin the tantalizingly delicious-scented meal]
