[ Steve might be one of the big guys on the outside, but beneath it all he's still just the little guy from Brooklyn who got beat up in back allies and failed miserably wherever members of the opposite sex were concerned.

But it didn't stop him from trying, rambling his way through each moment and making a fool of himself. He steps back from the attempt to kiss her on the cheek, something that he thought to be appropriate, and an embarrassed warmth crawls up his neck and sets into his cheeks.
