[John did his absolute best not to groan when Dean cut the ropes at his wrists, even though they'd bit in deep enough, rubbed them raw enough to be bleeding. To be fair, he was bleeding elsewhere too--there were long gashes along his arms an sides, one started on his leg.

He weakly pushed himself up, wincing.] Was gonna- make me its dinner... I guess.
