I got a 5! Let's go with that.mmorstanJanuary 25 2012, 01:08:40 UTC
[After work, Mary had been on her way to Baker St. when she narrowly misses colliding with a man on his bike. It isn't a terrible fall, it is more of a stumble, at least in her mind.
But it doesn't quite match up with her appearance once she does show up at the flat, her stocking torn, leg and elbow bleeding and bruised. No, she's all smiles, fixing her hair as she knocks on their door.]
[Sherlock is busy at work as usual...in fact he's just playing his violin but that's not the point. He does not like to be disturbed! Mrs. Hudson and John are both out so he puts down the violin and makes his way to the door with a sigh.
His eyebrows raise as he takes in Mary's appearance with one sweep, stepping aside to let her in.] You fell. Not a collision but a near miss.
Oh, I'd forgotten that he said he would be back an hour later. [She sighs as she steps inside anyway.] Well, I -
[At his first comment, she looks down at herself, her eyes going wide. She reaches for a spare tissue in her purse, hoping to stop the blood.] I didn't know I'd been bleeding that much.
Yes, yes of course you did but that's not what's most important here is it? [He closes the door behind her walking into the living room, knowing that she'll just follow.]
So it seems. [He turns to face her again] You've experienced no feeling of pain at all? I'm not a doctor like John but that looks slightly more than a minor injury.
[Stumbling a little, Mary immediately sinks into John's chair, holding her leg.]
I had absolutely no clue this was even happening to me. That surely explains that look of horror Mrs. Hudson gave me through the shop window when I passed earlier.
[He raises an eyebrow and looks around the room quickly. Walking over to the other side of the room he picks up a small needle. Probaby one that Mrs Hudson left lying around.
He makes his way back over to her and takes her hand in his. He pricks her finger with the needle.] Anything?
['Mind palace' time. Sherlock claims to be an expert in...well, pretty much everything but he has no clue how this could happen. Some sort of paralysis, perhaps?]

Stange. You had no clue at all? No feeling of pain whatsoever?

None! You'd think I would have noticed this gash!

[A spot of blood forms on the tip of her finger and Mary stares. Finally, she looks up at Sherlock.] Absolutely nothing.

I've never heard of such a medical condition. I don't feel numb.
