Martha Jones | Doctor Who | OTA notrosesshadow February 10 2012, 04:31:26 UTC

Martha was outshining and outrunning him in everything the past hour and he was just becoming slower and slower.

"I'm just tired, I guess." He rubbed at his eyes as if to prove a point. "We're almost at the TARDIS, yeah?" The last leg of their journey, she practically drag him along and unlock the door herself. "Jus' gonna... Take a nap, Martha." He yawned and padded past her to his room, and the moment his head hit the pillow, he was out.

Martha would be lying if she said she weren't worried about the Doctor. But he said he was going to take a nap and she figured she'd let him sleep before she figured out what was wrong with him.

Three hours later, he was still asleep. Martha had been in the library reading assuming he'd find her when he woke up. Like usual. Except he'd not shown up. More than a little worried now, she made her way to his room. "Doctor?" she called. No answer. "Doctor?" She called again, peeking in. He was still asleep.

Martha crossed the room to his bed and felt his forehead. He didn't feel fevered, but she didn't know much about Time Lord biology. Instead she shook his shoulder. "Wake up Doctor."

(Wow are notifs slow... Just got this one now at 2:30 PM CST...)

[ooc: my notifs are complete fail right now. :( ]

So tired... His thoughts felt so muddled and foggy, but he did feel Martha's hands on him. Unfortunately his eyes weren't listening to his brain, they wouldn't open! Oh, he felt so sleepy...

"Doctor? Doctor!" She shook him harder but he didn't wake. "Come on Doctor!" It was like a reverse Sleeping Beauty. At that thought, she felt a lightbulb light up.

A slight blush crept up her cheek and she leaned over to brush his lips with her own. Only true love's kiss...

As if wandering through a dimly lit tunnel, the Doctor could see a faint beacon of light glowing in the distance... What was that? It felt warm and welcoming and drew him nearer.

When Martha kissed him, he stirred a little bit, brows furrowed, but he still didn't completely wake up despite her shouts.

Ack... Sorry for the awful writing. notrosesshadow February 12 2012, 00:45:57 UTC
It worked! No it didn't work. But he had stirred. She was sure he had stirred.

"If it's a kiss you want to wake up, it's a kiss you'll get," she mumbled as she climbed onto the bed, straddling him at the waist. She lifted his head slightly with both hands and gave him the most romantic kiss she could all the while pleading in her mind that it would work.

It's fine! <3 captoftardis February 12 2012, 03:13:23 UTC
He felt like he was being pulled out of water, waist first, rolling upwards until his head broke through the surface and instead of gasping for air there was someone kissing him.

Oh, but it felt quite nice, really, as he weakly kissed her back (he was still in a little bit of a daze). He was starting to wake up more as he regained the feeling of his hands and cupped her cheek, to properly return it.

Martha smile and hummed slightly when she felt him kiss her back. And then her brain kicked back in. As much as she loved this feeling... she was taking advantage of him. She also needed to chick his vitals.

With bitter disappointment pulled his hand away from her cheek and sat up. A thick swallow and she spoke up. "You're awake," she said rather huskily as she felt for his pulse.

"Mm, yup." His eyes were still closed as he rubbed his eyelid. "Sorry, don't know what happened back there... Though I feel... so very drowsy. Awake, but I could sleep a little longer."

Without thinking, his hand fell down and on her thigh. Cracking his eyes open, "Oh, you're straddling me!" His voice should've sounded more surprised but it still had a hint of thickness to it.

"You are not going back to sleep until I know I can reliably wake you up," she replied, grabbing his hand. His pulse had been strong. Hm. And there was no fever.

She blushed when he noticed her position. "Right... you didn't wake up by conventional methods..." She carefully rolled off him and sat by his side instead. "No idea why you suddenly felt sleepy? I didn't know anything was wrong until the nap was three hours long and you didn't wake when I shook you."

"Mm, must've come into contact with something." He began to try and sit up, body still feeling extremely heavy. "Is this what narcolepsy feels like?"

However, he realized it was hard enough to keep his eyes open, let alone sit up, so he fell back and rolled over to his side, facing away from her. "Did I eat anything strange? Smell something? Take anything?" He yawned and stretched out.

"Doctor!" she exclaimed, tugging on his shoulder. "I mean it! Don't fall asleep. Sleeping Beauty worked once; but I don't know if it'll work again."

She frowned as he continued talking. "You always smell and taste things. You didn't mention any of them being bad though."

She was right as he forced himself to sit up, hunched over and eyes still closed. "There must be something..." He forced himself out of the bed, and out of the room, leaning against the walls of the TARDIS as he padded towards the console.

"There must me something that I did that would only affect me and not you."

Martha followed reaching out an arm to him in assistance. "Well. There was the plant you tasted. The bit of blood you sniffed. The countless things you touched. But you told me they were all harmless."

"The plant!" It was a good chance that might've been it.

Stumbling upon the control console of the TARDIS, he began searching through his files, "Oh, that has to be it!" In a way, he felt drunk, needing to hold onto the console in fears he'd fall over backwards.
