And let's say... COOKIES! Because there I know something he fears... creator_man May 29 2011, 12:44:10 UTC
So, hmm. Something came up a while ago, talking with Tron and Alan, and they were both very enthused, and I might... use a clear perspective on. *that would mean you, Ram. Yay?*

Have you been updated about the ISOs?

[hmm, sounds like this is going to be serious. and of course yay, is good at perspectives, remember?~]

Yeah. I think I got most of it. [what's on your mind, Flynn? always ready to help.]

^_^ yes, you came up with that name. We like it. :P creator_man May 29 2011, 13:13:07 UTC
*rubs his face, just once, then his hand settles.*

Tron and Alan... thought that maybe we can try to recreate the conditions. In another system. The Sea, the timing... kind of like things were in my original system. So that maybe ISOs can manifest again.

I'm not really sure that's a very good idea. But I don't wanna be a buzzkill on them, you can imagine how it is to have both of them enthusiastic about something...

[processing. astonished, hopeful, worried, determined -- bringing them back sounds like a wonderful idea, but even if he really isn't up on the relevant factors, he can already tell that the risk calculations will be enormously complex.]

Yeah... I can.~ [fond smile] If you could help them come back... that would be incredible.

What gives you pause about it?

*on the other hand, if his inner moral compass is as precise as Roy's...*

The first part is the if. I don't know what the parameters were that made their appearance possible in the first place. Everyone might end up pouring work and energy and hope into something that might never happen. Or ... it might work into something entirely else unexpected.

*quieter* And if it does work... I don't know how the ISOs might be accepted in the outer world. Whether their fate there might not end up even worse than the ones I witnessed.

*sorry, Ram. There aren't that many things that he fears that he can talk about. This one isn't easy*

[it should be, but it's hard to make the right decisions if you don't fully understand the situation.

bites his lip, processing it all carefully. these are dire questions. huge questions. but... in a way, it's not too different from when Users used to need his help to plan for starting a family.]

Then the questions you have to ask are: is it worthwhile putting time and energy into a project where the output's uncertain; what impact would it have on the participants, and can the risks can be reduced enough to justify. And....

[takes a breath, aware that the analogy he's using doesn't fully cover the situation, but it's the best answer he can give.]

You're talking about a situation where you can't even come close to controlling all the variables. [setting aside that certain Basics haven't been that easy to control either.....] And yet the probability is that if you don't do this, eventually the conditions will be right again somewhere else. This way, there's one thing you can give them. [hand on your shoulder. they might come back ( ... )

I guess. Although it's not certain that anyone else will be able to come anywhere close to the conditions I had. I just...

Once upon a time, when it happened, I thought I had the wold to offer them, and them to offer to the world.

It seems so arrogant and unrealistic, now.

[shrugs] You didn't do it on purpose either. If it was meant to happen, the conditions will come out right again.

[as a program who's used to believing that Users write programs for a purpose and then offer them to the world, he doesn't see much wrong with that, but ISOs... they manifested differently; maybe their destiny's different too.]

How would you look at it now?
