3? For the subterfuge? eamesofdreamsAugust 2 2011, 15:18:41 UTC
[ Eames sneaks her a small grin, fixing the front of his jacket to tug the button through it's hole. Rain sluices against the window of the hotel foyer, odd for August. He huffs out a breath, turns to her. ] Don't look so down, poppet.
real world ! If that's okay with you?eamesofdreamsAugust 2 2011, 15:38:15 UTC
[ Curling a hand round her wrist with something like gentle patience written all over his face. ] Come on, you look beautiful. You should own it, with a figure like yours. Now, do you remember what Arthur said?
I thought you were smarter than to pay attention to what should be a perfect woman. [ Eames smiles, tries to smooth away any bite or discomfort the exchange might bring. He offers her his arm in a show of gallantry. ] The particular bit about fitting in, Ariadne. Which means you're going to have to smile, otherwise it might look like I've kidnapped you and am holding you at my will, twirling an imaginary mustache.
It looks good on you. [ Eames laughs at her, eyes crinkling at the corner as they step towards the front of the foyer. There's an umbrella stand and Eames stoops to take one of the hotel's. ] None of that if you want me to make it through the night.
So did the longer, less form-fitting one that I picked out.
[She says this with the smile still plastered on her face, like she's talking about how lovely the weather is and not arguing with him over her wardrobe.]
And what would you rather me call you? Honey? Baby? Darling?
Just trust me, Ariadne. You'll be the belle of the ball, and this will go according to plan. [ Opening the door for her and then opening the umbrella so that they can both fit underneath it. ] Perhaps petnames aren't for you?
[She ducks through the door and then under his umbrella, pulling close to him so she doesn't get wet. And also maybe to steady herself on the uneven pavement in her heels.]
Yeah, maybe not. What are we supposed to be calling each other at this thing again?
[ Eames offers her a smile, attention drawn around them. He looks like a normal tourist, interested and enthusiastically so, but in reality his eyes are a bit too narrow, focusing on the job.
Keeping his tone light, conversational. ] It's a good thing it's raining. People are more likely to stay inside where they can be seen.

I'm not "down," I'm uncomfortable. [And maybe a little bit nervous.]

Eames, I'm built like a 12-year-old boy.
[She looks up at him.]
About what specifically? Arthur said a lot of things.

[She sighs slightly and takes his offered arm before taking a breath.]
Okay, okay. [She smiles up at him, batting her eyelashes.]
Is this better, poopykins?
