The Doctor was in mid-ramble, "So, really your straightening iron can be adapted to..." when suddenly all the lights flickered and then turned off in the cabin they were in.
"Oh!" He wanted to stand up to take a look, but already knew the passengers would beat him to it. "Strange, wasn't expecting that!" Then again, who does expect such a thing to happen?
The Doctor glanced over to Martha, feeling a great sense in pride over her helpfulness and determination, given she most likely wanted to run away and save her own skin as he did. Running just came too naturally sometimes.
"C'mon! Let's move!" He eased more people out of the rubble and checked a few people over himself. Unfortunately he didn't have anything to properly bandage people and instructed then to put pressure to their bleeding wounds.
The woman was fine. Martha didn't have anything for bandages either and instead began tearing off strips of her shirt to help people out. She was wearing a jacket. If worse came to worst she'd zip it up.
She instructed someone to call the emergency line and continued working up until the point where no one else straggled out of the cave. "That's all I think," she told the Doctor, sitting down on the edge of the platform.
He was still anxious, but forced himself to sit down next to her, watching the frantic people move about through the rubble. Sirens could be heard all around them, giving the impression they weren't the only ones affected.
"I wonder... perhaps this was a terrorist attack?" He couldn't sense anything out of the ordinary on the train and couldn't see anything obvious around them at this time, either.
Martha hissed for him to be quiet. "People are already panicked enough. If you want to discuss that possibility, I suggest we do so in an area where we won't be overheard."
He supposed she was right, as he didn't want to cause any distress or more panic in the people surrounding them, but it almost seemed comical. People were panicked and running amok that he felt it almost didn't matter what he had to say.
"C'mon then." Moving deeper into the city, perhaps they should try and find the TARDIS, if only it were easy giving they were like fish moving upstream compared to everything.
Martha followed him, but quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him down an alleyway not being used, through to a second alley that opened up into a courtyard. She looked a little surprised. Though Martha knew her way around London, this was an area she was not completely familiar with. Still, there was no one around and the windows were closed.
"Terrorist attack. Are you thinking Earth terrorist or Extra-Terrestrial terrorist?" Because which one determined who they would end up calling next.

"I don't know yet. I'd really have to inspect the actual damage and entrance/exit points..." He looked around in the sky. "But I'm not picking up on anything extra-terrestrial, but that doesn't mean it's not... There were other sites, yeah? Did I hear that correctly? Maybe we can look further."
Or really if they find the TARDIS before then too.
No worries. I've been only managing about one a day lately...notrosesshadowMarch 10 2012, 23:49:56 UTC
Martha looked thoughtful. "Perhaps I should call UNIT... would the TARDIS tell us more? Or at least get us closer without making our way back through the crowd?"
"I would be able to tell, yes." He would be able to lock onto any strange signals being projected from the area.
After a few blocks later, they stepped inside the blue police box and headed straight to the console where he began a scan of the area... "Inconclusive, meaning they're very well cloaked or it is just a man-made attack." He glanced at Martha, "Is your family alright?"
Martha pulled our her phone when he mentioned them. She had been so busy trying to make sure everyone at the crash site was OK she hadn't made it as far as calling home.
"Mom?... Yes... yes everything's fine... Are you OK? Terrorists? Do they say who?... Mmhm..."
A long pause and then.
"So no one's claimed it yet?... No... yes we're working on it... yes... and Dad, Tish and Leo?... Good good... yes... I have to go help... I love you to Mum."
She looked at the Doctor, silently asking if he needed her to repeat anything he'd heard.
The Doctor leaned against the console, watching Martha have her conversation. "Man-made, then." It wasn't that he was hoping for something extra-terrestrial per say, just it'd be alot easier to handle if it was, and effects would be easier to work with. That is to say if UNIT wasn't on the case yet.
"Well, in any case I'm glad your family is alright, and I'm glad we're alright. Close call back there, yeah?"
"I'm glad they're all right. Still, after so many alien invasions and the like, I'd forgotten that we can be just as evil towards ourselves." She frowned and walked over to the counsel to stand next to him.
"Why do people... people and aliens... why do sentient beings harm each other like that? What's the point?"
He wasn't quite sure himself how to properly answer question, given he wasn't the most innocent person in the universe. "There are various reasons, anger, hatred whether it's false or true, brain washing." He rattled on, then stopped.
He smiled as he wrapped his long arms around her, "I wouldn't expect any other request coming from you!" And when he pulled back, he helped her pick a few supplies from the sick bay and then they were off.
"Oh!" He wanted to stand up to take a look, but already knew the passengers would beat him to it. "Strange, wasn't expecting that!" Then again, who does expect such a thing to happen?

"There's no good reason for it, though, I agree."
