[The best partner a girl could ask for! Mary's quite new at this, so she'll follow your lead, River.

This cruise ship is swimming with men to be swindled and she honestly can't be more pleased about it.]

Who first?

He was first. Then that one, and then, ooh, that looker by the bar... [River smiled and waved at one of her (already many) new acquaintances.]

Oh, were you asking which one we're going after for business? [River grinned cheekily at Mary] Well, let's test your instincts for this. What sort of man do you think will be best? And do make an effort to think, sweetie.

Oh, River. [She shakes her head, laughing.] I was thinking about that elderly gentleman who has been eyeing me while dining with his wife.

[She could make it work, anyhow. A bit like that Marilyn Monroe movie, she supposes. One of them. Though she doesn't see herself as much of a bombshell. Oh well, work with what you've got.]

[She made a light inhale through her teeth.] Alright, not a bad choice. Fairly good instinct - but look closer at the wife. Holding him a bit tight, isn't she? She feels threatened by all the pretty women around. If we want to take him, she's our biggest obstacle, not him. Men are easily amused if you know what buttons to push. Or open.

[She chuckled before continuing] Now, we could certainly try to separate them: say, you take the wife off for a chat and I swoop in on the mark - but if she gets spooked and comes back for him, that puts a wrinkle in things.

But I think I've got a better idea.

I could do well with his wife. Much better than the man, actually. I'll leave that to you. [Mary figures, running through the motions in her head.

Then, she looks to River again, her head canted to the side.] And what is this brilliant plan you've devised?
