Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!
~ Lewis Carroll's The White Queen in Through the Looking Glass

Whether it's having a vampire as a babysitter, suddenly finding oneself in the distant past (or future), or falling down a rabbit hole, there are certain things that our muses find impossible.

1. David tries to make things right after he turns on the Animorphs.
2. David and Rachel reconcile - ultimate ass-kicking team-up optional.
3. David skips town after turning on the Animorphs instead of hanging around to fight an unwinnable fight.
4. David gets talked out of chasing that damn blue box in favor of a more constructive hobby. I don't know, Yahtzee or something.
5. David gets over himself and puts his powers to good use somehow.
6. David joins someone's Legion of Doom. Let's face it, it was probably only a matter of time...

Another long, incredulous look, a slow blink. He tries to catch up to what exactly David has implied and when he finally does, Feliciano giggles quietly. "Of course! I can't spend time with my friend if I'm not around, can I?" He smiles, very proud of himself for being all logical and sensible.

It hasn't really occured to David until now that while from the start he just saw Fell as an ally to take down the boss, Fell clearly sees him as a trusted friend. It's enough to make him feel a little ba about the whole thin and if it means having to learn to cook, it just means he'll have to learn how to cook. "Well... okay then," he says bemusedly, looking back at the redhead. "Guess we're off to the kitchen then."

"Really?" A huge grins lights up Feliciano's entire face. "Ve~!" Laughing happily all the while, Feli grabs David's arm and drags him towards the kitchen.

"We're going to make pasta! Pasta is the best meal! There is the pasta itself and in the sauce are vegetables and oil and meat and spices and herbs and cheese and..." Well, this is going to take a while. Feliciano can spend hours singing the praises of his favorite food, but it's not like his obsession is news to David. Surprisingly, he interrupts himself suddenly to face his friend. "What's your favourite food?"

"Yeah," David mumbles, sounding more uncertain than enthusiastic, "yeah, really." He doesn't get any further than that before Fell's got his arm in a bear grip and is yanking him to the kitchen. He yelps; the kid doesn't look strong, but he's pulling him along like he weighs nothing.

"But I don't know how to make pasta..." he protests, but Fell's not really listening; he's flitting about the kitchen like an oversized hummingbird on speed, pulling ingredients out of drawers and cabinets and the fridge. It's all David can do just to keep track of them all, and when Fell stops to ask him about his favorite food, it lets him breathe. "Ah... I don't know," he shrugs, feeling kind of on-the-spot. "Burgers. I guess. My dad took me out to a place that had Bison burgers once. They were the best.

He has graciously decided not to make pasta from scratch today, he wouldn't want to scare David away with anything too complicated. Thus, he isn't kneading dough when David goes and mentions yet another unspeakable food... No, Feliciano is chopping carrots. His hand tightens around the handle of the huge knife, his eyes narrow just as they had at the mention of the abomination that is Jell-O.

"Burgers aren't food, either," he declares solemnly. He tilts his head to the side, regards David with pursed lips. "But I suppose bison burgers count. I have never had bison." He laughs brightly. "We should make bison the next time!" He stretches out the hand holding the knife, offering it to David. "See how I chopped the vegetables? Give it a try. I'm going to boil the tomatoes so we can peel them easier."
