It's okay. I'm not going to go all asthmatic or anything. Just makes me... edgy.
[He stuffs his hands in his pockets to keep from fidgeting. A second later though, he's distracted by something nudging his foot: a folded up piece of paper slipped under the door. He bends to grab it, nearly whacking Jan in the face on his way back up. Closer quarters than he'd thought.]
Sorry. Here, check this out. [Clears his throat then reads out loud:] "Quick talking in there. It's called 7 Minutes in Heaven not 7 Minutes Chatting About the Weather. Not letting you out until you've made out. You can thank me later. -Charlie"
[Lincoln laughs good naturedly.] I am going to kill him.
[Then looks at Jan. His hands are still in his pockets, and he's smiling calmly, but his stomach is squirming. And not because he's been waiting to kiss Jan for some time now. Noo, never.] So. Um.
[Jan barely manages to get out of the way as Lincoln almost clips her after picking up the note, her back hitting the wall of the closet as she tries to regain her balance. When she reads the note, she has to grin. It's not like she hasn't been tempted to try this to help a couple of her very stubborn friends to finally get a clue.
Since Lincoln didn't seem angry, she can only think of one way to deal with the situation, especially when someone had so eloquently asked for that particular solution. Reaching up, she slides her hand to the back of his neck, pulling him closer for a kiss.]
[He shouldn't have been surprised. There really was only this solution. And yet he finds himself momentarily stunned when she kisses him. He spends a second thinking about how this is a really bad idea. How she's not even from this world, and how he still has weird unresolved issues regarding Olivia, and how his job could kill him any day now (as she has already witnessed) and how, well, shit, he's been wanting this for so long he's not going to be able to go back to just being friends once they get out of here.
And then the moment passes. Because there's only so much worrying a guy can do when he's being kissed. He reaches up to hold her face tenderly and finally just kisses her back.]
[At first, Jan wonders if she had made a huge mistake. This might be the only way that Charlie will let them out, but that doesn't mean that Lincoln actually wants her to kiss him. Maybe she'd read the situation wrong. Maybe he didn't think of her that way, especially after finding out that she wasn't exactly normal.
All the nervousness she hadn't felt before hits her hard and she almost breaks the kiss, ready to apologize so that maybe they could ignore that this has happened. Then he's kissing her back, his hands gently keeping her from moving away. She thinks that this is one of the best things that's happened to her in any reality, then she's too distracted to think about anything.]
[Any nervousness, worry, annoyance at Charlie for being such a dick-it all just evaporates. Because Janice's lips are softer than they'd even looked and he's finally getting to kiss them.
Normally Lincoln has pretty good self-control, but given the circumstances, it's out the window. Before either of them can decide this is a bad idea he's stumbling over shoes in order to shove her up against the closet door, his body pressed flush against hers. He kisses her with some urgency, one of his hands sliding down to grab her hip.]
[If she wasn’t so busy kissing him, she would have laughed as they stumbled against the door. The rattle of the panel within the frame should be proof enough to Charlie that they were following the instructions. Hopefully he wouldn’t interrupt anytime soon.
Her almost-giggle turns into a moan when Lincoln pins her against the door. For a moment, she holds onto him a little desperately, needing to be sure that this is real after fantasizing about it for so long. Then, she’s tugging at his shirt, trying to touch bare skin. Patience may be a virtue, but it’s not one that she wants to practice right now.]
[Lincoln withdraws from her slightly in order to peel off his t-shirt as quickly as he possibly can. It gets a little stuck on his head, and then tangled around his arm, but eventually he chucks it away toward the floor with a sheepish little smile. He knows it's dumb, but he can't shake the feeling that any minute now she could realize how awful of an idea this is. He doesn't exactly want that to happen.
So he pulls her in again for another kiss, his hands sliding around her waist and up the small of her back under her own shirt.]
no kidding. but interesting in a good way, for us~cortexiphanedAugust 9 2011, 20:03:43 UTC
[ She lets go of the door and turns to face him completely. ]
I have no idea who you are. [ Her hand moves slowly towards her gun holster. ] And I don't know how you know my name, or why you think you know me, but I'm going to give you about two minutes to let me out of here.

[What? He is. He jiggles the doorknob uselessly one last time before turning back to Jan.]
Those idiots have successfully locked us in here. And my guess as to when they'll let us out is the same as your guess.

Well. Okay. You got me on that one. Good friend of five years at least. Why're you being weird?
