Hello again, Benjamin. [Wynter frowns as he enters the room and gestures for two of the thugs to remove the cuffs immediately.] What did I say about restraining him? Was I not exquisitely clear in my directions?
You know, Wynter. [Ben glares at the higher-ranking wolves in his erstwhile Pack. It says something that they sent three of them after him. He rubs the feeling back into his wrists.] You could have just picked up the damn phone.
Leaped, no. Sauntered casually, possibly. But getting snatched off the street and bundled into a black van like some kind of kidnap victim doesn't sit well with me. You know I have issues with that.
[He crosses his arms.] Hell, you could've just walked into the office at the PI firm.
Whatever. [He huffs out a hugely annoyed breath.] What's so important. [It's... not a question.]
The day before yesterday. [Wynter looks actually concerned; well, he is. He doesn't like it when people take his things.] She went into town with several others. Nobody is entirely certain of when they last saw her.
[All the facepalms. All of them.] Have you heard from anyone? Ransom demands. Like that? Because the trail's gone cold by now and I got nothin' to go on.
[One of the other wolves lets out a grumbling growl. "You think we didn't try to track her? What do you take us for?"
Wynter makes a stilling motion.] Anything you need. I am well aware that your skill set makes you the best man for this job. That's why I called you in, despite our . . . fractious relationship.
Okay, so where did you notice her missing? Any suspicious characters been hanging around lately? Rival Packs? Not just then, but in general. Anyone showing undue interest in Leah?
No rival Pack would dare come anywhere near our boundaries. We have acquired a reputation. [Well. Wynter has, specifically.] Leah has no Mate with us, although it is my understanding that her life before coming to us was . . . less than the ideal.
I'll want to have a look at her email, phone records, and financials. Maybe she's got an ex sniffing around who wants her back and isn't shy about taking her by force.
[Ben grabs his cane from one of the wolves, who bristles at him, then eyes Wynter and stands down. Ben just snorts at him.] Do you even know how to use this thing?
[He follows Wynter to a computer workstation and is soon perusing Leah's life, frowning.] She never said anything? Because this, right here? [He taps an email. Like many people, she puts read mail in the trash and then never empties it.] I don't like this at all.

[Of course Wynter already has all of those things. He's Wynter.]

The concern is palpable, even if the expression is a little on the brutish side. They all like Leah, and she's Pack.]
