Whatever it had been that Darcy had called through the bathroom door, Thor had only heard it with half an ear--he was too busy standing there and studying the small stack of clothing in his hand, rubbing the fibers between his fingers. There were so many things on Earth to marvel at! Nylon! At the sound of Darcy's voice he simply turned the handle and pushed into the humid little room without thought. Or at least, without any thought other than the ingeniousness of this thing called Velcro.
"Jane said that you would need these things," Thor said, setting the garments on the sink. He glanced up into the mirror hanging above the porcelain fixture. In its foggy reflection was Darcy...
Very wet. And very naked.
Thor's head tilted slightly to one side. She and Jane both always wore impractically loose clothing, unfit for true movement, but at least Jane never had quite as many layers as Darcy. The girl was always so bundled that until that moment he had failed to notice that she had a woman's body.
Over the spray of her shower Darcy had been singing along to whatever godawful pop song had ingrained itself in her brain as she soaped down her hair, the thick locks slathered in shampoo. So she didn't hear the door opening, or Thor walking in...but she definitely heard the voice. She stopped running her fingers through her hair, turned her head and made a strangled sound at the sight of him through the fogged glass. Panicking she grabbed the closest thing on hand and tossed it at him, only to have it bounce back and hit her in the face. Ow. "Thor!" She scrambled for the towel and attempted to cover herself.
Bruce isn't exactly certain how he got here, especially since "here" is naked in an unfamiliar shower. Though, really, his generally sore and exhausted state is a bit of a clue, though he's not sure why the other guy decided to leave him nicely situated in a hot shower. He'd even turned the water on and managed not to break anything, as far as Bruce could tell.
...Except this was not his shower. This wasn't even Stark Tower. Where was he? He couldn't remember more than a few flashes of events before he got here, as usual. How could he even be sure that he hadn't wandered in to some unsuspecting person's bathroom and scared them off? He stood up shakily and peeked around the shower curtain. Well, there was his ruined clothing. That wouldn't be much help. ...And he didn't see any towels.
And now he could hear someone trying to open the door.
"Thor I swear to god if you use all of my shampoo I will dismember you." After a very long day of work Darcy had commuted back to her small apartment instead of Stark Tower. But instead she walked into her house, and found the door hanging off it's hinges, and a slight scortchmark on her carpet. Lovely. She had just really not wanted to deal with people today, but of course there just had to be tall blonde and godly in her shower after staying there the night before with Jane. Sighing she opens the bathroom door and grabs a towel from her hamper, and walked in.
Bruce let out a completely undignified noise and whipped the shower curtain closed. Oh. Well, at least the Hulk had known to go to a friend's house, though Bruce would have thoroughly preferred his own shower.
"No, I'm not Thor. ..I'm terribly sorry about this, Darcy."
He cleared his throat and tried to be rational about accidentally ending up in the shower of a young woman he didn't even know very well. "Can I borrow a towel and I'll just. Be out of your hair?"
Naked Banner. Very, very hairy and naked Banner in her shower. Shaking her head to clear her slightly stupefied reaction, Darcy covers her eyes and sort of half assedly holds out the towel on the other side of the curtain, reaching over to shut off the water with some warnings to back up. She didn't need to add accidental groping to her list. "Uhum there a reason you decided to strip down and enjoy my mango scented body wash?"
Bruce grabbed the towel and wrapped it firmly around his waist. This didn't need to be a more terrifying experience. "I didn't really make the decision."
He still felt awkward stepping out of the shower half-naked. He didn't like to be undressed around most people, really, and certainly not vague acquaintances. That was worse than strangers, really. At least he'd never see strangers again.
Snorting Darcy uncovered her eyes and backed away. "So what Big Green decided to meander into Casa De Darcy? Or did you finally take Tony up on the offer of experimental booze..." Well hello Dr.Banner.
Bruce tied the towel firmly and awkwardly started to side-step around Darcy. "I'm fairly certain it was all the other guy's idea. Why he didn't just take me home, I've got no idea, but I'm very sorry. I hop he didn't damage anything...?"
He's really not sure why she's looking at him like that, though. It's a little bit worrying, if he's honest. "I'm really sorry about this." Maybe if he apologizes enough, she'll stop.
"Eh he pulled my door off its hinges, but I can fix that no problem. You get kind of handy when Thor is your bro." Darcy continues to stare, she's trying not too but really she's only human, but she grins at him when he mentions the big guy. "Glad to know he likes me at least."
"I'm really sorry. I'm sure I can pay for that...?" He edges to the door of the bathroom, trying not to feel too exposed. He would have to find his way back to Stark Tower like this, and he wasn't looking forward to it. Darcy's continued staring wasn't helping, either.
"He does apparently like you. It's a little odd, but I'm not used to him liking anyone." Bruce smiled at her, trying to sweep his dripping hair out of his face. He was dripping everywhere still - well, at least he wouldn't be too warm on the walk home.
"No seriously you don't have too, I'm just happy he didn't tear down the wall." Darcy finally looked at his face, and seconds later she's watching his hands. God she needs to get out more. "Eh I'm awesome, I have that affect on people....are you planning to run away in that? I mean I think Erik left a duffel bag worth of shit last time he dropped by."
"...If he wouldn't mind me borrowing something, I would appreciate it. I suppose walking back to Stark Tower like this wouldn't exactly be inconspicuous." He's just pleased she looked up finally. He's not really used to someone staring at him that much.
"They've been here for like three months, he's totally forgot about them. Hold on." She tries to push past him in her tiny little bathroom, and well it gets a bit friendly for a few seconds before she can get through the door and grab Erik's bag from her storage closet. Yay New York and your comically tiny bathrooms.
Bruce manages to carefully keep his hands to himself, even if Darcy doesn't quite manage to do the same. He tries not to jump back, but largely succeeds because the sink is already digging into his back.
"Thank you, by the way." He calls after her. Awkward as this is, he's been in much worse situations. At least Darcy wouldn't call the police on a strange man in her bathroom. He had that much to be thankful for.
