[Though Elena's never really been a lightweight, she has had a lot to drink tonight. And even though she's never really been the type to drink away her problems, there's just too many problems for her to deal with without drinking.
Sighing as she peers into her red plastic cup, empty because she long since drained it of it's contents, Elena tosses it away as she starts to push through the throng of rowdy teenagers crowding the large house. She's not even sure who's throwing this party, but she suddenly just doesn't want to be there.
When she finally pushes out the front door into the cool night air, she takes a breath and turns to head down the steps of the porch, effectively running right into a firm body. Well...she isn't the steadiest person on her feet right now.] Ah, sorry...
[for once, he had nothing in his hands to speak of, having left his bag in the truck and his keys in his pocket the only thing he deigned to take on his walk. It was a cool, clear night... disrupted by some rather noisy neighbours, he found. But he let it slide - wouldn't be here long after all.
Clay had just wanted some air -- what he got was an armful of stumbling brunette. His hands lift to steady her, gentle at her shoulder, waist -]
Whoa - you okay? [he can smell the alcohol, and frowns mentally. Oh, terrific.]
yay ^^ and I didn't even have to bribe you with my identity eitherdoppelenaMay 21 2012, 12:31:07 UTC
[Elena was mostly disoriented by the feel of large hands on her, head craning back to peer up at the poor guy she had run into. Blinking, she stood a bit straighter, well, tried to at least so she wasn't leaning on him so much.]
Oh. Uhm. Yeah. M'fine...just, ya know, a little... [Smashed? Wasted? All of the above? She mentally sighed. She was drunk and judging herself. And was sure she was being judged by him as well.] Anyways, sorry.
m'easy, bb /winks - but now curious, too :3wantedtofindherMay 21 2012, 12:34:22 UTC
[his frown was a shade disapproving and he couldn't help that.] Please tell me you're headed home and not back in there... [a brief gesture behind with his eyes, nodding. He didn't like the look of the place.. too many lolling bodies and laughter.]
this I've always known dearest >.> (Dana says hiii)doppelenaMay 21 2012, 12:42:00 UTC
[Disapproving looks were usually her thing. For her younger brother. Sometimes her friends. Mostly Damon.
But receiving one was definitely not pleasant. So frowning a bit herself, she shook her head.] No, not going back in. Was going to walk home actually... [Because yeah, she wasn't going to call a certain someone, the only one who could at the moment to pick her up. (Again. Damon.)] Fresh air will do me some good.
lol and cue angry-faced Johnny! ^^;wantedtofindherMay 21 2012, 12:53:32 UTC
I'll walk with you. [he says quietly, stern. He won't take no for an answer, it's late and she's a drunk, pretty girl. That can add up badly, depending on where you are.]
._. why angry-face bb?doppelenaMay 21 2012, 12:58:14 UTC
[Elena furrows her brows the slightest, tipping her head as she studies him.] No offense, but, who are you? New people to this town usually...uhm, end up not liking me very much. [Because they end up being vampires. Filter your words better Elena. Jeez.] And, well, stranger danger and all that. [Nice save. Don't ever drink again, he thinks you're insane.]
babe.. they just broke up, more or less. ^^;wantedtofindherMay 21 2012, 13:03:02 UTC
Good question. [and he's sort of glad she didn't just up and agree with him. Even drunk, she has good senses. He smiles, looking across from her to the sidewalk as he steers around a teetering group passing by.]
No one important - I just got here. [he looks back at her.] My name's Clay.
wellll. we'll fix it. eventually >>doppelenaMay 21 2012, 13:10:38 UTC
[Yes, even drunk she still has some good senses. Had to or she'd most likely end up dead or something.
But despite those good senses, she's going to let him walk her home, because, well, he doesn't seem like a particularly evil guy. And he's sorta good looking. And she's not entirely sure she'll make it home if she goes by herself-- she may end up waking up in a bush.]
Right no one important, well, I'm Elena. Also no one important.
Good, well since we're walking anyway... I think some coffee might be a good stop on the way. [he doesn't ask her where she lives, because you just - don't. He doesn't, anyway, cautious like this. He just carries on in the direction she had been when she bumped into him, so - turning towards town.] Sound okay? Then I can leave you there if you want to call someone, or.. whatever.
[She lets out a slow breath, nodding a bit with her exhale.]
Coffee. Sounds like a good idea. [Turning to look ahead of them, she's at least glad to know they're heading the right direction. She's glad to know which way is any direction at the moment.
Casting a glance towards him as she starts a slow steady pace up the sidewalk, because hey, really in no hurry here, she studies him curiously.] ...sorry this is your first impression of our town. Though...I suppose it could be worse. [A lot worse, she muses.] Anyways, uhm, do you make it a habit of helping out drunk girls who stumble into you or am I just lucky?
Hm. Probably best you don't stay here. [She sighs out almost as if talking to herself.
Elena looks back ahead of them once more, wrapping her arms around herself and rubbing her hands at them idly, the chilled air finally getting to her.] A stop on the way to where?
[that was a little different, and he looked over at her, pausing in his reply to her question.] Oh, yeah? It doesn't seem so bad - small town, everyone seems to know everyone here... can't be all bad. [he should know better than to say stuff like that by now, he thought - appearances often always decieved.]
Problem with tight knit communities like this? The secrets. You'd be surprised how many secrets can pile up with the people you think you've known all your life. I'm sure if it was a big city, larger than this town at least, it wouldn't really matter. But you know, everyone is connected some way or another here. [What was all this she was spouting now? Her brain seemed to have lost it's filter while filled to the brim with booze. At least she wasn't raving about vampires and werewolves. He'd have her committed.]

It's fine - I don't plan to stay long if I can help it. Just a stop on the way. [a casual glance over, his expression amused.] Not usually, no.
