Simon Kemble | Crossroads Demon OC | bartenderdogeat_underdogMay 31 2012, 04:17:44 UTC
[Crossroads are few and far between in one-horse towns, but there are still deals to be made. So Simon's set himself up in a fairly nice saloon that serves decent booze and has clean rooms on the second floor. And if some of the clientele is a little... creepier than average, well. He's a demon. It comes with the territory.]
[From the look on the Doc's face? He's heard of him, all right.] We've got no use for Mister Wynter's brand of government around these parts, Mister Ash.
[And that's when the sheriff makes an appearance, coming in on the tail end of the conversation. He has a seat at the bar and orders a whiskey, eyeing the stranger up and down and then turning to the Doc.] What kind of government?
[The Doc's got his Disapprovin' Face on. Simon no doubt recognizes it.] The kind that thinks it can buy and sell folks and their lives and doings just like a pretty girl buying ribbons for her hair, is what kind, Will.
Oh, that. Yeah, that doesn't ever go over well. [He turns a rather hostile stare on the stranger.] Probably ought to tell your boss to not even try. We've run off everyone else who ever did.
Oh, come on, boys... and girl. [Miz Miller is looking pretty hostile too.] Are we really gonna get into a "this town ain't big enough for the two of us" pissin' match here?
[Ben deals out to his table. "We might. But won't be no trouble if you don't start none."]
[Janni eyes the newcomer skeptically up and down, then ostentatiously moves over to Ben's table with her drink and has a seat beside him.] We'll see about that.
Deal me in, sugar?
[Ben sputters for a few seconds and goes red before recovering. "Yes, ma'am, Miz Janni."]
[And Guriel does not grin smugly into his beer, don't be silly. So what if he has money riding on those two crazy kids ending up together? An angel needs hobbies.]
[A corner of Ash's mouth turns decidedly downward, because he's not missing the byplay between Miz Janni and the Lockwood fellow, although Lockwood seems completely blind to the fact that the woman likes him, and flummoxed by her, all at the same time. He finishes his drink and tosses a coin to the bartender.] Guess I'll go talk to my boss. [The doors swing to and fro behind him as he leaves.]
[Guriel turns from the keys long enough to shoot a significant Look at his elder brother. Not that anyone else in town -- except Simon, of course -- knows he's related to the Doc. They're being stealthy.]
