[Cas frowns. This... Was not a good idea, not at all. Which he'd of course said about four hundred times before they'd left and about four hundred times on the way here. Not that it'd stopped him from coming along- it never did- but he thinks it might bear repeating:]
This was a bad idea.
[Not quite an I-told-you-so, but enough of one that he suspects Dean's not gonna like it. Which is tough, really, because he doesn't like it either. He glances around the side of the building they're using for cover and the mass of croats they were supposed to be sneaking around to pick up supplies.]
[he shrugs, not really caring for the strew of dead bodies around them enough to care about the plan.] What d'ya mean 'what now'? Any others show up, we shoot an' get the shit together, run.
Any others aside from that horde out there? We don't have enough ammo to take half of those out, let alone that group and more.
[He sighs, then perks somewhat, dropping his pack to the ground and kneeling to dig through its contents. It's lighter than usual, which he supposes is why they're out here in the first place.]
I have a flare in here, it might distract them long enough for this to work, but it's still a terrible plan.
[Not that he has anything more helpful to offer, or anything at all other than his cynicism and his backup (three guesses which of those two things Dean'd brought him along for...) but he's gonna let Dean have them both regardless.]
we keep losin' each other! screw that shit! /clingsneedtoknowonlyMay 31 2012, 19:52:47 UTC
Then we get you some god damn exercise lower than your hips and run, Cas, jesus. [what, was he determined to criticise him today? Dean watches as he crouches and raises both brows. How did he - no. He's past wondering how his mind works and solutions present themselves now. Just gives a curt nod of approval.] That'll do us. Terrible or not, it's a plan.
/cliiiing sorry for the lateness, it was a con weekend hahaheavenonhighJune 6 2012, 05:19:25 UTC
[Of course he's always determined to criticize if that criticism might eventually sink in, Dean has to know that by now. ...Although it's not like it's really been working for him this time- Cas is starting to wonder if it's a lost cause. He narrows his eyes, looks from Dean to the mob of croates, and sighs with a shrug of his shoulders. Does he really want to try to outrun them with his smoker's lungs? Not really, but it's better than being eaten alive and so he supposes his plan, no matter how half-cocked, will have to do for now.
His fingers close around the flare and he yanks it out, digging his lighter out of his pocket with his other hand because if ever there was a time for multitasking, this would be it. He doesn't hesitate before lighting the end and tossing it as hard as he can manage into the horde.]
Go!
[Fuck, he hopes that works... Dying was only supposed to be a matter of fine print when he'd signed up for this mission...]

[Croats were everywhere. It didn't matter where they ran or how hard they fought. But finding a building strong enough to hold them back was a damned miracle. Panting for breath, holding a long slice in his arm, Sam leans heavily on the door while Dean finishes securing the room.] They'll leave soon. Find something else to chase.
[His fault they were like that. Mothers, children, innocents. All because he was too weak. Sam tries to ignore the whisper in his mind and stay focused. Where Dean needed him to be.]
[Dean didn't believe in that for a damn second, but it didn't stop his agreement. His smile was bracing as the brief grip to Sam's shoulder, a quick shake of encouragement as he leant to the wall beside him.] Yeah.. gotta, soon enough.
[They would. At least as far as Sam remembered. It was still difficult to piece his memories together after Lucifer. Even harder when he'd been possessed. Tired, he sinks to the ground, wrapping a frayed bit of his shirt around the cut in his arm.
[Dean smiled. He could too. At least come up with a vague semblance of one.] We good on bullets?
[he gives a grim look.] Damned if we weren't.. don't worry, Sammy. I got it covered. [and him. Always would have his back. No way he was letting him go now he found him again. So it was close to the end, so what. He always knew it'd end, but he wanted it this way - him and Sam together. He wouldn't change this.]
