They were supposed to be at SHIELD five hours ago, bruce doesn't know if the billionaire did this on purpose or not, the getting them lost, making sure they stopped at this motel.. who knew. "uh- tony, why did we stop here?" they should probably start thinking about turning around and take the road back to where they came from, but somethings telling him tony has something planned.

"Come on, it's four in the morning," Tony says, killing the engine, "I'm gonna fall asleep at the wheel if we keep going."

"fair enough." getting out of the convertible and walking alongside the other as they made their way to the front office, bruce waited for if tony would end up saying two beds or just the one. Subtly and to the side, bruce whispered to the other, " you could get just one bed. I could sleep on the floor or something." in india you rarely had a place to sleep, so taking a rest on the floor was normal for banner.

[Pepper really doesn't understand the need for either of them to drive anywhere anymore, but here he is, in a car with Tony, driving along when it suddenly isn't just raining - it's just sheets of water coming down from the sky. With a long suffering sigh, he pulls over and just rests his forehead against the steering wheel. Hopefully it passes soon.]

[It's a mark of how little attention Tony's paying to his surroundings that it's the car stopping that gets through to him. He's been staring blankly out of the window for the last half hour - he hadn't even noticed the rain]

Turning the map every which way, Darcy flips off her broken GPS unit for nearly the eighth time in the past hour and completely frustrated at her inability to read a map she tosses it at Tony and starts her ignition.
"I told you taking my hunka-junk was a bad idea. I don't care how much we fixed it up, this car hates people and it hates fun. It is the buzz kill car."

"How are we lost?" he mutters, looking at the map as though it's personally responsible for the situation. It's really not the map's fault. The map is marked out perfectly clearly. Unfortunately they seem to have strayed into Deliverance-type backcountry where modern inventions such as road signs have not yet arrived. They could be anywhere by this stage.

"Because I got the bright fucking idea to take a scenic route. Who the fuck takes a scenic route anymore, it only leads to banjos." Speaking of banjos, the farther they get the more corn fields and large scrawny swamp trees arrive. She kind of unconsciously grips Tony's knee the freakier they get.

"No banjos," Tony says firmly. He's eyeing the fields with deep and unending suspicion. He's a city boy at heart; he likes having tall buildings around. Being able to see horizon is unnatural and weirds him out. "If we keep going in a straight line long enough we've gotta end up somewhere, right?" he says reasonably.
