Steve + computers = my favorite thing ever, he's like my grandmaredintheledgerJune 4 2012, 21:53:13 UTC
You take the JACKET and slip it on. It fits like a glove, it was obviously made for you!
You open the BACKPACK and take stock of what is inside: a coil of ROPE, a pair of recreational HANDCUFFS, an APPLE, three CIGARETTES, a packet of MATCHES, two BALLPOINT PENS, half a jar of NUTELLA, and a BUTTERKNIFE. Someone was hungry when they packed.
Steve's not sure how he feels about being compared to your Gma, but smiles all around anyway. capcicleJune 4 2012, 22:21:49 UTC
This game is kind of exciting, he thinks. It isn't like the games that he's seen Clint, Thor, and Tony playing but it's a little more his speed since he doesn't really care for the explosions and excessive violence that seemed to delight the others. It's kind of like a mystery and he sure does enjoy a good mystery; Agatha Christie novels were always his favorite.

Adorable in a WHAT IS THIS WIZARDRY sort of way. It's all good. XDredintheledgerJune 5 2012, 00:05:47 UTC
You slip your arms through the straps of the BACKPACK, settling it on your back and experimentally try the handle. It opens, and you find yourself in what seems to be an otherwise normal RESTROOM: a bank of SINKS with MIRRORS hanging over them, and TOWEL DISPENSERS on the wall. There is a DOOR leading out and a rather large hole in the ceiling.
> Move to the SINKS and test to see if they work. > Take a drink if the water looks drinkable. > Move to the TOWEL DISPENSERS and inspect them|
There's bound to be something important in the bathroom, surely. Maybe some hidden secret that might help him in the future that he needs to grab before heading out. He'd feel like a right bozo if he missed something now and had to backtrack. Besides, there's still that noise that he doesn't trust in the least and needs to be investigated.
One sink does not work nor does the next, but after a squeak and moment the third begins to trickle with clear WATER. You cup some in your hands and take a drink. It has an odd, metallic taste to it -- not exactly pleasant, but you probably won't die. Maybe.
They are TOWEL DISPENSERS without TOWELS. How's a girl supposed to dry her hands after using the powder room around here?
Huh. Alright, so maybe there wasn't anything hidden in the bathroom. Didn't hurt a fellow to look, right? Better to have looked and feel silly for not finding anything than missing something that could potentially be vital and having to head back. Well, that's one less thing he has to worry about. But just in case...
> Search the rest of the room for anything useful. > Leave the RESTROOM when search is complete|
He'll never admit that he let out a whoop when the Natasha in the game found the keys but just between him and the computer screen, he did. It was a spontaneous thing! Thankfully he was alone in his room and he doubted anyone was on his floor to hear him.
> Yes > Check the door to the RESTROOM |
Ten to one the door was going to be locked or jammed, or otherwise unopenable because there was still that hole in the ceiling and a coil or rope in Natasha's bag.
Going back inside the bathroom to explore that hole in the ceiling was tempting but Steve is still very dubious of that noise. Well, there was a corridor to explore and a protagonist to navigate to safety.
No surprises may be a good thing. You proceed RIGHT down the hall, which is in the same dilapidated condition that the restroom was in. There are several DOORS on either side of the hall, all locked except for the one at the end. It opens into an OFFICE. Across from the OFFICE is an ELEVATOR and a STAIRCASE -- for those who don't want to wait for the lift, you guess.
He had barely started and already Steve was embroiled in the mystery of it. He didn't know anything, there hadn't been any clues or notes, or anything to give him an idea of what was going on, at least not yet, but he found it amazingly engaging and interesting. He wondered why the others weren't playing this too!
You decide that the stairs can wait, and duck into the OFFICE's open door.
Inside, there is a WINDOW in the opposite wall with the blinds drawn. The WINDOW is behind a rather impressive DESK with one of those comfy SWIVELY CHAIRs behind it. There is an empty BOOKCASE against the wall to your right and a row of nondescript FILING CABINETS against the wall to your left.
A normal office then, he decided. There might be some files or some kind of documentation that could give him the necessary clues needed to piece together more of the plot or at least give him something useful to further his journey. And he might find it just a little amusing that he was going to direct Natasha to pilfer through the files for secrets. He also really hoped that the real Natasha would never find out he was playing this.
You gravitate towards the FILING CABINETS, thinking there must be something important in there -- an item, or a clue as to where you are and what you could possibly be doing here. You tug at the drawers, but none give way. They're locked! There must be a way into them somehow.

There is nothing special about the SINKS or DISPENSER.
There is a TRASH CAN at the end of the SINKS. Underneath some debris is a ring of KEYS.
Do you add the KEYS to your inventory?

The DOOR opens into an empty, windowless CORRIDOR. You may proceed RIGHT or LEFT around a corner.
