SingerJr: Oh is that so? News to me.
SingerJr: I'm bored.
SingerJr: ...Dad, I'm downstairs. Why are we talking in a chatroom?

idjitminder: Research ain't all books.
Idjitminder: Good question. There any coffee left?

[Guess who's been up all night researching? This guy.]

SingerJr: I know that. But random chatrooms?
SingerJr: Oh jeez. You didn't sleep did you?

[Guess who's getting up to make coffee right now?]

[His eyes hurt, so he shuts the damn computer down and heads downstairs in search if coffee.] That vetch the boys are tracking ain't gonna go down without a messy damn fight.

[Abi just rolls her eyes, letting the coffee pot do it's thing and going into the fridge for actual food, because if he hasn't eaten, chances are...] Nothing ever goes down without a messy damn fight, Dad.

[Bacon, Bobby?]

[That's his girl.] Nope. And I'm trying to make sure that those two idjits keep their heads right where they're supposed to be. [He drops to the kitchen chair, rubbing at his eyes while he waited for the coffee to finish up.]

They can handle themselves you know. It wouldn't kill you to pass on the information and get a nap or two in.

[She doesn't look at him as she speaks, moving quickly around the kitchen while the bacon starts up to get some eggs, maybe some pancakes on the stove too. Someone's got to actually feed these guys before they turn into pizzas and cornbreads.] You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna get blackout curtains for your room.

[The house hasn't had a warm, female presence in too damned long. Bobby's instinct is to grumble, but he holds his tongue, getting up long enough to pour himself a mug of coffee and press a kiss to her temple.] Too damned good to us, kid.

I'm gonna. One last call to the boys and I'm going down, I promise. Gettin too old for these all nighters anymore.

Someone has to be. If I left you alone, you'd all kill yourselves. [Abi leans into the kiss, closing her eyes a little. She knows that isn't true. They took care of themselves just fine before she showed up. Just with less sleep and a way less balanced diet.]

You know...I could help. I don't do anything but lay around and maybe talk to someone if they need help in the junkyard. I was a librarian, research is like...the air I breathe.

[They survived. With Abi, they lived better. The house was warmer, better. At the offer, he nods. God knows he could use the backup some days, when the calls started pouring in from everywhere and everyone ask at once.] I ain't I've to say no to some help. But that's where it ends. No hunting. Ever.

[Abi rolls her eyes, dumping a cup of milk into a mixing bowl. They bounce through phases quickly, days and hours and minutes where she's Daddy's Little Girl, and then just as quickly, she's a petulant teenager, then his caretaker. Making up for all of the missed years all at once.]

I whined about that bruise I got from the shotgun kickback for like a week. Do you really think I want to be a hunter? [Protecting herself is essential is she's going to be a part of Bobby, Dean and Sam's lives at all, but hunting? Never.]

[The shifting modes is enough to give him whiplash most days. But Bobby doesn't mind. She's his girl, that's all that matters. They'll muddle through the rest as they go.

[Which completely entitles him to slip into Overprotective Father mode when it comes to hunting. He makes a satisfied noise, sipping his coffee.] Good. Research is one thing, but I don't want you out in the field.
